Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is two 1985 Suzuki GV1200 Maduras. These are rare, super fast motorcycles that were only made in 1985 and 1986, and here is your chance to own TWO of them. TOP BID WINS BOTH MOTORCYCLES! The first one is the nicer one in the photos that has all of the same color paint. It is parked on the right side in the photo showing both right sides of the bikes. I started riding this bike about 13 years ago when it belonged to my boss at the time. I had a new set of tires put on it about 12 years ago for him when it was still his. I bought it when I stopped working for him, then sold it back to him about a year later when I bought a Harley. About 3 years later, I bought it back from him and have owned it since then. In 2005, I had the tank, side plates, and back fender painted, as the factory maroon paint had faded really bad on the tank like so many of them do. I also put new tank decals on at that time, and had the seats recovered. The bike really cleans up nice as you can see, but it is not perfect, as to be expected from a 26 year old bike. It has been garage kept and covered for the last 9 years. The paint is almost perfect and shines beautifully. I know that the bike has less than 1000 miles on it since I had it painted and the seats recovered. My wife and I had kids, and suddenly I had a lot less free time to ride my bike…and I still don’t! It currently has 24,5xx miles on it. The last time I had it running was about 4 years ago. I will continue to try to get it running as this auction runs, but I cannot guarantee anything. It turns over and is close to starting, but has not started yet. The battery is 5 years old, so that doesn’t help either. The last time I had it running, there was a small gas leak from one of the carbs. This had happened before due to it sitting for a year, but once I rode it several times, it quit. I’m guessing that some type of gasket probably dries out from not being ran, and leaks until the gasket gets soggy enough to seal again. All this bike needs is a set of tires (just due to age), and if it won’t start, the carbs most likely need cleaned. The second bike has 15,xxx miles on it. I purchased it from a local guy who had not ridden it in about a year or two. I briefly attempted to get this bike to start after I bought it, but was never successful. It turns over but won’t start. I didn’t really put much time into it, because I had really only bought this bike for parts in case something happened to my good one. The previous owner of this bike told me he had gotten into a minor accident some time ago, which resulted in damage to the front fender. He straightened it as best he could and just left it – you can see in the pics that it’s not straight. The paint on this bike is a little faded, especially the side plates. However, this bike is complete and solid. The seats are in great shape and appear to be original. I have the radiator side pieces and front screen, and they will be included. I took them off to polish them and put them on the nicer bike, and never got to it. I’m not sure what all this bike needs to be road ready. For sure, tires (due to age) and a carb cleaning, unless there is some other reason it won’t start. I have clear titles in my hand to both of these bikes. I will only accept cash in person upon picking up these bikes. You must pay if full within 7 days of winning the auction. I will only ship these bikes if your shipper will come to my house, pay for them in cash, and then load them. Neither motorcycle has any warranty or guarantee, and no returns will be accepted.
