Vehicle Detail
My wife bought this car as a used demo in 1999. It had been a daily driver until the timing belt broke. Our mechanic told us the valves are bent and we'll be replacing the engine if we want to keep it (i.e., the car is not running). Before the timing belt broke, the biggest issue was that the heater / air didn't work and our mechanic was never able to figure out why not; the fan blows fine, but we can't alter the temperature. The display unit for the heater was cracked by a flying cell phone, but the heat continued to work for a year or so after that. The driver's seat has a couple of ripped seams, but the rest of the interior (gray leather) is in good shape. The radio is the stock AM/FM cassette and it works. The tires have about 25K miles on them. I don't believe the body has ever had any rust. The car was rear-ended at a stoplight about eight years ago and the trunk and left quarter panel were replaced. About three years ago, the car was bumped in a parking lot; there are a couple of tiny paint scrapes (too tiny for my camera to detect) low behind the left rear wheel where the quarter panel turns under. The estimate from the body shop was a measly $200 and I never bothered to have it done, The buyer will need to tow the car within seven days of the auction's closing from Leesburg, VA 20175, which is approximately 15 miles west of the Dulles Airport. The car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to cancel the auction.
