This is a very reliable 7 passenger four wheel drive mini-van. I just purchased it on ebay about a week ago near Seattle, Washington. I bought it to transport some materials back to my home in San Diego. I took it to the Ford dealer in Tacoma, Washington to have it all checked out (changed the oil while it was there) before I left to go home. Everything checked out on the van. This is a real solid van for the age and miles. I drove it a little over 1200 miles in two days with about 1500 pounds of payload. It did phenomenal! The van averaged about 18 miles per gallon on the trip (with the weight). I just took it to get smogged and registered in California yesterday. It passed with flying colors and now has California registration that is good until Jan. 2012. I also just had it professionally detailed so that the new owner can have a nice clean van to go home in. The van has normal wear that can be expected from a 16 year old vehicle with almost 200,000 miles. The paint is actually in pretty impressive condition as you can see from the pics. There are obviously a considerable number of scratches and scrapes throughout the body. The cloth interior is in OK condition. The previous owner had a dog, that is the reason that the chunks are taken out of the driver side mid section of the van. Mechanically, the vehicle is sound. This van shares the same 4.0 liter engine as the Explorer of that year. The chassis is also a Ranger/Explorer chassis. The engine in this van runs strong, and starts right up. The power steering pump is a little loud. The dealer told me that it just needs to be serviced (which would be a system flush). As far as I know, everything works on the van. The AC blows cold, and the heater/defroster blows hot. The tires are in almost new condition. There is no rust on this van. I can't think of anything else to add about the van. If you can think of anything, please don't hesitate to ask. The van is located in San Diego, California (Point Loma). I will be out of town on business all next week so I will not be available to show the vehicle.
