Vehicle Detail
1979 Volkswagen Convertible Another Vintage Volkswagen brought to you by TheResurrectionProject.net The Volkswagen convertible is one of the most popular cars in the long line of Volkswagen history. The Volkswagen Beetle, available in both a hardtop and removable soft top version, was first designed by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche. The 1979 Volkswagen convertible has become a classic among car enthusiasts. 1979 was a pivotal year for Volkswagen as it saw the end of production of the famous Beetle. The final 1979 Beetle unit price rang in at $6,800 per car, compared to the approximately $1,900 with the early predecessors. The Beetle design continued to be produced after it was closed out of the U.S. market in 1979. Final convertible units sold off in 1980. European sales continued for another five years. And Mexican licensed factories continued to sell old-design Beetles until 2003. We are offering up for sale, what is known in the collector car world as a “Triple White” Car. What this means is that the car has a white exterior, with a white interior, along with a white convertible top…these were one of the hardest to find color combination in the Volkswagen world. The car has a very presentable white paint job and still sports the original and very comfortable interior. It appears to have the original convertible top, headliner and heated glass rear window. With a turn of the key the electric fuel pump kicks on and the fuel injectors bring the 1600 CC dual port Volkswagen motor to life. In preparation for the sale, the motor received a professional service that included all new fuel lines, fuel filter, oil change, as well as the valves being adjusted so your car is ready for you to drive upon arrival. The beetle had an incident back in the 80’s when Volkswagens were a dime a dozen. Because of the market value of those times the insurance company issued the vehicle the common practice of a salvage title to pay out the owner the value of the car, as any Volkswagen lover would do, it was bought back from the insurance company and the repairs made, so the car does not sport original paint anymore even though the paint does look like it was done at the factory at first glance and get’s attention everywhere it goes. There is nothing like putting the top down and going on a nice drive on a sunny day with your favorite band playing thru the upgraded CD player and speakers that have been installed in the car. This car has a great vintage feel since it has the same shape as all the older beetles, yet since it was the last and most modern beetle offered within the US you can easily tell that there were many upgrades over the years and in that final year, was often considered the greatest driving car of them all. So don’t miss out on this timeless classic as well as the benefits of modern comforts. **The car has recently passed California Smog Emissions Testing** The car will be available for viewing Feb 27, 2011 at the TRP Indoor Volkswagen Swap Meet in Roseville, CA for more information go to www.trpindoorswapmeet.com Please take a look at the attached pictures and ask any questions that you have BEFORE the end of the auction. We are always happy to supply you with any additional photos that you would like upon request. Please Note Due to the current EBay policy that does not allow sellers to leave negative feedback, we as sellers have no warning signs about potential nonpaying bidders. Ebay requires zero accountability or consequences to those who bid, yet do not follow thru with their contractual obligation to pay. This policy is causing unusual amounts of ‘’Unpaid” Items. Sellers have been suffering in the way of lost wages, Ebay listing fees, and most importantly… the loss of legal and binding transactions. *Affective Immediately for all Auctions* Within the last 24 hours of the auction end date or prior to that time frame, the top three bidders or any party who is planning on submitting a bid must make a verbal commitment to their dedication to pay within the terms specified. Regardless of your feed back or bid history if we do not hear from you we reserve the right to delete your bid and sell the vehicle to those who have met the terms of this agreement. This type of pre “auction end” contact will not only give us a chance to build a trusting relationship with you, but gives you the buyer, a more personal experience and better sense of our staff along with our mission to provide you with the highest standard of customer service that we give to each of our clients.
