I just dropped the price another $200!!! Take it or leave it, price won't budge anymore and the item will not be relisted anytime soon. This is a 1971 GMC Sprint, which was built by GMC on the El camino platform, with Chevelle and El Camino parts. It is a GMC Truck. 1971 GMC Sprint. This is a very rare, classic, GMC Muscle Truck. 1971 is the first year GMC made their version of the El Camino, which is essentially a chevelle truck. These were only made for two years, 1971 and 1972; before changing body styles. I bought this truck 5-6 years ago, tinkered on it a bit, used it as my short distance daily driver for a year and as a long distance daily driver for several months (125 mile commute one way to work) before I switched over to my 4 cylinder commuter. My family outgrew the truck, so it became a dust collecting toy. Fires up everytime, no hiccups, mechanical problems, or questionable noises. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this anywhere. Drive it to the east coast and back, no problem, no B.S. Drive Train: New Engine and had the th400 Transmisison Rebuilt (both under 20k) [I'll look around for the receipts]. 12 bolt heavy duty rearend. New Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold, New Edelbrock Carburetor, New Alternator, New Fuel Pump, New Brake Booster, HEI Distributor, New Water Pump, etc. No oil leaks, no fuel leaks, no exhaust leaks, no power steering fluid leaks, no brake fluid leaks, no differential fluid leaks, no coolant leaks, no vacuum leaks, no known powertrain leaks whatsoever. Suspension/Steering: Very comfortable and in great condition. Cruise on the highway just fine, no wierd or abnormal noises or vibrations. Bushings appear and feel in good condtion. I replaced numerous suspension and steering components, such as relay rod, inner tie rods, outer tie rods, tie rod couplers, among other things. There are air shocks in the rear. Drives straight, doesn't veer to the right, left, or wobble. Any known problems or defective parts have been replaced. Rides good, feels comfortable, and safe to drive. Body: Car was all original Butternut Yellow (? the color you see on the truck), when I got it. The driver fender and door had a dent, so I replaced both. The replacement fender came off a 1971 El Camino Super Sport and it has a minor rust/rot at the bottom which should be repaired before paint). The replacement door is very straight and in good condition, no known rot or rust. Ding and/or dent here and/or there. The truck will need some obvious body/paint to make it look new again. Doors open, close, latch, and alignment is fine. Tailgate opens, closes, and latches, -hinges are good. Only known rust issues are rust/rot at the back window, floorboards beneath back window (should be replaced; at least section behind the seat), and lower section on front fender. Tailgate, bed, hood, rest of body, passenger fender, doors, etc. all either rust free, or only minor surface rust. Truck has a custom billet grill which is very rare and looks really nice. I've sanded some of the car to bare metal and primed it, but obviously I didn't finish the whole truck; which is good so you can see how unmolested the body is/was. There is no bondo anywhere on this truck (except possibly the driver fender, which didn't appear to have any when I installed it, but I don't recall inspecting it, it looked pretty straight so I put it on). I think all the chrome, and emblems, are there. I have extra chrome trim available, if something is missing and I have it, I"ll include it at no extra cost. Surface rust on the roof. All glass is there. Rear glass is not securely installed, rather just sitting here. I had it out for a minute to start the body work, but never got around to it. Windshield has a crack, which was glued by a previous owner. Hasn't spread in the 5-6 years I'veowned it and it hasn't obstructed my view either (think its more on the passenger side). Interior: Dash is in great condtion. No known cracks, not all faded, in really good condition. Dash mat on the dash is good and protects the dash. Rear View Mirror installed, gauges are there, but swing gauge style speedometer is disconnected (started making a little noise, so I disconnected it last year), Headlights, brake lights, marker lights, turn signals, reverse lights, all work. Interior lights worked, but might need a new bulb, not sure, don't recall. CD player with Detachable face installed and works fine. Headliner condition unknown. Don't remember, it might be gone. Door panels are in good driver condition, not all torn, tattered, or weather beaten. Maybe a little faded and a small worn spot, but fine for daily driver. Driver side armrest is floating around and comes with the truck. Seat is comfortable, but is worn under driver butt. Don't think there's a carpet in there. I think all the other trim pieces, kick panels, rocker panels, etc. are there, but don't recall every little detail. Ignition switch is good and works as expected. Flashers work. Wipers work. Might have the horn button somewhere. Has GT Steering wheel, column is in good condition and intact. Cigarette lighter works. Glovebox latches. Driver door lock needs to be jiggled, or cycled, to get it to unlock from the outside. Windows roll up and down fine. Window regulators are good. Wheels: Comes with 6 late model SS 17" Camaro wheels and custom adaptors, as well as one mid 90's camaro wheel currently mounted as a spare. 3 Good (? driver condition) 17" tires. 1 good (Driver condtion) 16" tire. Rims will need some reconditioning to look new again, maybe a good polish, or simply leave them alone and drive on them. Or, you can have a set of Rally wheels instead, you're choice. Brakes: Front Disc Brakes, Rear Drum. New Brake Booster. Legal Info: Title is in my name. There are no back dues or late registration fees. Currently is registered as Non-op. Truck is Smog Exempt. I paid close to $500 in back fees when I first bought the truck. I've described this truck to the best of my knowledge and recollection. Last DMV Renewal Notice was $80, but I left it on Non-op. Vin is difficult to read, CHP did a VIN inspection, verified the numbers matched, riveted a new VIN plate in the door jamb for Identification and gave it a salvaged title designation (or similar designation?). I have all the paperwork for that as well. Reason 4 Sale: I got 3 kids, so the pick up is no longer practical for me and is very seldom driven. I have chevelles, a cutlass, and camaro, which are all more practical, as i can fit my family in those. I had no room at my house for this, so I hauled it to my inlaws house in Elk Grove, just south of Sacramento. My inlaws don't want it stored there forever, so it's time for me to move on and find a new home for this. Summary: It's ridiculous how much time and $$$ has been invested to make this a solid reliable daily driver. If you're looking for an rare old school muscle truck you can hop in and drive anywhere, while you do your own custom restoration, this is the truck for you. This is not a show truck, I value it around $5,000-6,000; but it needs a new home so starting bid has been reduced to $3,999.99. Sorry, not interested in any trades. Do not call me asking to sell it for me, I will not accept any checks. I will accept money orders, but the truck will not be released until the bank assures me the money order has cleared. Hideous looking Camper Shell is included at no addtional charge. Truck looks much better without it, but I had no place to store it, other than on the truck. Terms: $200 Good Faith Non-Refundable Deposit, via pay pal, within 72 hrs. Remaining balance to be paid in full, with cash, upon pick up of truck, within 2 weeks of auction close. I will deliver within 75 miles of Elk Grove 95624 for $80 (= one tank of gas for my suburban). If you want to pay the full balance with pay pal, all pay pal fees will be split 50/50 between buyer and seller. Absolutely No personal checks, company checks, or anything that appears questionably shady. Call me if you intend to pay in any way, other than cash, before bidding. I will accept a money order for the exact amount, however I will not release the truck until the funds have cleared the bank, and the bank has verified the funds have cleared, so you would need to be patient if you intend to pay with a money order. Contact: If you have any questions, or concerns, please feel free to contact me personally. My cell phone # is (209)605-5693. My name is Jason. Leave a message if you get my voicemail (I seldom have good reception). Best way to reach me is at my email JasonMTapia@yahoo.com DO NOT EMAIL ME WITH SPAM; ASKING TO BUY IT NOW, OUTSIDE OF EBAY, IF IT'S STILL AVAILABLE, ETC. Unfortunately, I do not live near where the truck is currently stored, so it is very inconvenient for me to show it to anyone; which is why I am listing this on ebay, rather than Craigslist; I don't have time for B.S. or lowballers. I will not respond to ridiculous emails asking if the truck is still available, this is an auction; truck wouldn't be listed if it wasn't available. If you're serious, call me, most emails appear to be spam solicitations anyways. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
