1988 Black on Black SAAB 900 Springtime in Sweden Edition Turbo Convertible In 1988, Saab commissioned 288 special convertibles as gifts to its US dealers. Dubbed the “Springtime in Sweden” or "SiS" model these cars are differentiated by their color scheme and Aero/SPG-like bodywork and 3-spoke wheels. Up for Bid and Your Consideration … This two owner limited edition 900 with only 101K certified SAAB maintained miles. Car performs excellent motor runs flawless … turbo boost excellent with rare automatic transmission. This car garage kept entire life and shows with black paint still has deep luster with few minor dings SPG panels perfect. Interior is original buffalo grey leather with black convertible top again all excellent. Nice set of Bridgestone with straight set of three spokes. I have a letter (shown in pictures) found in owner’s manual packet from Nancy Marren of Saab-Scania of America Inc. dated April 26, 1989 addressed to original owner Mr. Charles Wellborn in response his question on brochures on his 1988 SE Black Convertible. She explains none were printed because of its limited availability. Also reason for the trip to introduce 1989 9000CD, that dealers had opportunity to purchase one car as commemorative of trip, last describes Springtime in Sweden edition features and how it differed from others. Should there be any doubt of “SiS” authenticity this letter should clear up any of those concerns. This car has been well maintained it looks and drives like it.
