Vehicle Detail
This is a very clean 1997 Volvo 850 GLT that has been used as a 3rd car in our family. We no longer have a need for this car, it hasn't been driven much since we bought it, and it is time to find it a good home. Like all 14 year old vehicles, it has some wear and tear, but nothing major. I have had quite a bit of repair work done on this car since I have owned it and it is definitely ready to be driven anywhere! Features: 5 Cylinder Low Pressure Turbo w/ Automatic Transmission Heated Seats and Mirrors (all work well) Power Windows, Door Locks, Keyless Remote (I have both original remotes in good condition) Premium Sound System with Cassette Power Driver Seat Power Sunroof (works no problems, as seen in the pictures) Power steering, ABS with 4 wheel disc brakes Front and Side Airbags Leather Interior, No Rips or Stains Original Carpeted Floor Mats Included Spare tire and all tools are present 2 keys and 2 remote transmitters go with the car The GOOD THINGS about this car: Interior is in excellent condition- no rips, tears, or stains on the leather- no dashboard cracks A/C and Heat work well All glass is in excellent condition Engine runs strong, starts right up even in cold weather, and transmission shifts strongly and smoothly, no vibrations or slipping! No leaks of any kind from the engine or transmission, the low pressure turbocharger works fine and gives a light boost to the engine. All power features work no problems Car is in EXCELLENT MECHANICAL condition: I have spent over $6,000 in recent service work: new brakes all around (rotors and pads), new front calipers, timing belt done at 142,000 miles, included all tensioners, pulleys, water pump and thermostat. I also had the transmission serviced and new axle shafts installed up front. The engine drive belt was replaced with the timing belt. I also JUST (within the last 500 miles) replaced the entire fuel pump module, including the in-tank pump, sending unit, screen, and fuel filter. The fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail was also replaced at that time. Tires have been replaced within the last couple of years and have many more miles left on them! This car has also had regular (every 3,000 miles) oil changes with synthetic oil and tune ups as needed (distributor cap/rotor/wires/plugs). I have ALL MAINTENANCE RECORDS IN A FOLDER ALONG WITH ALL OF THE MANUALS AND BOOKS ON THIS CAR IN THE GLOVE BOX! IT HAS A DOCUMENTED SERVICE HISTORY. I also have both original keyless remote fobs, which work well! It is just like getting the car as if it were new! I challenge anyone to find a nicer Volvo 850 out there for the money! I need to sell this car quick, so it has no reserve, and a reasonable starting price. Let me point out the deficiencies in this car: It is missing the fuel door- the cable that pops the door open broke and I had the dealer remove the door. Not a major deal- I have a picture of this. You would need a replacement door of the same color and a new cable There are some dings and dents on the car, one of them is pictured on the trunk, nothing major again, all cosmetic. The paint on the hood is a little discolored from parking the car under an oak tree, again, all cosmetic, and it does not affect the performance of the car. When you first start the car, the AC and REC lights on the climate control system flash for 15 or so seconds. The AC and heat work fine, the dealer has diagnosed a sensor as the problem, about a $200 fix. I didn't have them do it, because the system works fine. I am listing this to be totally honest in the interest of full disclosure. The service light is on- NOT the check engine light, the service light, it can be reset at any dealer- it comes on every 5,000 miles to let you know the oil needs to be changed. If the buyer wants- I will have the oil changed at the dealer and the light reset at my cost before you come and pick the car up. The oil isn't due for another 1,000 miles, but it's close enough to be changed. This is a non-smoking car, so it smells fresh inside and has been very well maintained. I have the clear Connecticut title to this car and the car has also passed emissions testing and I have the paperwork stating the car has passed emissions. You are welcome to send me a message and ask any questions or to arrange to come see the car and test drive it. The highest bidder will take this car home. I am also happy to assist in arranging shipping/transport for this car for out-of-state bidders, however, all transportation costs are the buyer's responsibility.
