The 2006 Honda Insight will achieve 57 mpg on highway cruising and rarely dips below 52mpg when running around town. The only two-seat gasoline/electric hybrid on U.S. roads. This hatchback coupe teams a 3-cyl gasoline engine with a battery-powered electric motor for 73 hp. It can run on one or both of its power sources to balance acceleration and fuel economy; no plug-in charging is required. I am the original owner of this car and have performed all the services at my local Honda dealer. The mileage is all from commuting to work. Right now at current gas prices it only costs between $25-$30 to fill the 10.6 gallon tank up. The fill up will allow you to cruise for 550-600 miles on a tank. I can assure you that this is one of the cleanest Insights you will find. The car was washed and vacuumed every week. Driven daily, but very well taken care of!
