For Sale I have a 1974 GMC 6V-53 Grain Truck. This truck is a tandem axle Diesel Dump Truck. Vehicle has 88K miles and change. The truck has a 5-speed Hi/Lo standard transmission. It is a twin screw with air brakes. The truck has a 20ft. box with 50in. sides. My wife and I own a repair shop and the truck belongs to my father, so I have a detailed history of the past few years of maintenance on the vehicle. For starters, all of the tires were replaced about 2 years ago. When this was done the king pins were replaced on the front as well as all brake shoes replaced on the rear. Other recent work includes 2 new brake pods on the rear, all fuel lines replaced on the motor, valve cover gaskets replaced, new belts and hoses on motor, a complete service of the truck, oil sending unit replaced, shaft bushings replaced in the blower, and the Hi/Lo motor and housing for the axle speed control were replaced on the rear-end. This work alone totals more than $4000. The engine runs well and is still very strong on this Dump Truck. Everything else is in good working condition except for the lift gate on the left rear. As you can see in the pictures there is some damage on the left rear of the vehicle. While hauling a load of grain to the elevator this fall the truck was rear-ended by a semi. The damage is fairly minimal. One of the cross-member supports was compromised as well as some damage on the side and rear. The hydraulics, dump cylinder, and everything else still works very well. The only issues are the lift gate and crow-member. I believe all repairs could be made very easily in a few hours or for a few hundred dollars.
