Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE extended cab sportside that I have modified extensively. This truck was involved in a minor front end collision (as a result of someone turning left in front of me from the right lane) in 2005. All required parts were replaced with official GM parts. The air bags did not go off, but the frame was slightly damaged. All repairs were performed by a qualified repair shop and I have had no issues since. DRIVETRAIN: It has a 2005 model LQ9 high output 6.0 liter Cadillac engine which I bought with 1000 miles on it and now has around 11,000 miles on it. At that time of installation, a new starter was installed and a new power steering pump along with the water pump that came with the engine, new MSD wires and Iridium spark plugs. The truck has Dynatech SuperMaxx long-tube headers with high-flow cats and a Borla slash-cut dual-exit cat-back exhaust. Backing up the engine is a SSR T-56 six speed manual transmission which I bought new from GM in 2005 and currently has around 60,000 miles on it. A new dual-mass flywheel and SSR factory replacement clutch and slave cylinder were installed in January 2010 along with the new engine. The truck has a factory 3.42 rear end with the G80 locker. I am including a new set of Yukon gears in 4.10 ratio and a new Detroit Tru-Trac limited slip differential that I had intended to install but just never go to. I installed a 34" radiator, 2005+ Silverado dual electric fans and a Nelson wire harness. The truck has an Optima red-top battery, which I installed in 2004 at around 50,000 miles. It has plenty of power and has never let me down. EXTERIOR: It has a GMC Sierra C3 / Denali front end with the black GMC C3 grill (I think the black grill looks better than the chrome Denali grill on the dark blue). It has 20 inch Denali style non-factory wheels (which I bought in 2003 and have had 4 sets of tires on) and Toyo Open Country HT 265-50/20 tires. The wheels are starting to show their age and should probably be refinished to make them look like new again. The tires were installed in August 2009 and have about 20,000 miles on them (with a 60,000 mile tread wear warranty). I installed high-intensity xenon headlights (the real thing, not a set of conversion bulbs) from a company in Canada that manufactures DOT approved headlight modules. SilverStar bulbs are installed in the high beams. The truck has a Leer tonneau cover, lined with dark carpet, that was color matched at time of installation and still looks great. The bed has been coated with Herculiner in 2003. If you plan use the bed for work, this should probably be re-done, as it’s starting to show some wear. SUSPENSION & BRAKING: I have installed 2-inch lowering shackles to level out the rear; these make the truck look a little nicer and handle a little better without affecting ride quality. In addition, Edelbrock IAS shocks were installed in 2003 and they are still performing as advertised. Hotchkiss anti-sway bars front and back. The Baer AlumaSport brake system, which includes 14 inch rotors, new calipers and specific brake pads were installed in the spring of 2010, along with braided stainless flexible brake lines. The brake lines were flushed with new fluid at that time. The front end has been rebuilt last fall with polygraphite bushings, new inner and outer tie-rod ends, new ball joints and new hubs with integrated ABS speed sensors. A four-wheel thrust alignment was performed at that time. INTERIOR: I replaced the factory instrument cluster with a new Denali unit in 2003 (the mileage was transferred over to the new cluster), and installed a DIC (Driver Information Center) that I bought used from a Denali in the upper center console. This has a lot of useful information, such as mileage, two trip meters, average economy and vehicle history. The original speakers were replaced with Infinity speakers around 5 years ago and they still sound great. EXTRAS THAT GO WITH TRUCK: Polygraphite bushings for the rear end. I just haven't gotten around to doing the rear yet. New drive shaft and u-joint come with the truck. Yoke removed from new shaft due to SSR transmission having a beefier yoke; this will have to be swapped over when installed. The truck is perfectly drivable as it sits, but in order to really finish it the included parts will need to be installed. All the hard work is done, the only things left would be your personal touches. A good detailing would really make it sparkle, but the paint is in good condition with normal scratches and wear and tear.
