Jetta GLS TDI 2nd owner, bought this vehicle on eBay Motors, flew and drove 1,700 miles to get it. These are hard to find because they are in demand. 38 MPG average, meaning highway I get more like 41 MPG. It costs $35-40 to fill the tank and you go 500 miles. A well maintained diesel goes 300,000 miles and up because Diesel fuel is a lubricant. Never smoked in this vehicle, no pets or kids in this vehicle, cleaned inside and out twice a month, waxed 4 times a year, cared for interior. Front Bumper and hood rock chips have been touched up, only one chip above the windshield that I haven't touched up. A/C is fully charged and runs cold. Heater runs HOT. Battery is less than 1 year old.Tires and Brakes are over 80%Oil is faithfully changed every 4,000 miles with new filter and full synthetic oil. GLS means bells and whistles: German engineered creature comforts and design that makes sense. Alloy wheels, leather seats, heated seats, automatic sunroof, Sony CD/MP3 Stereo, Premium original speaker package, Class I Towing Hitch and 4-pin trailer light plug, VW roof rack for skis/bikes. On Feb-09-11 at 09:29:51 PST, seller added the following information: Clarification on some questions from potential buyers: CarFax report states multiple owners of the car previous. The statement about being a second owner was based on what I was told at vehicle purchase. The # of owners may also include dealers and auctioneers and other parties who the title passed through. I don't know any details on the accident on the history report. I can say I have not seen any symptoms that have effected the function of the car or bothered me. The only thing that might be related is that the "door open" light on the dash is continuously on when all doors are closed. The inconvenience of this is that the cabin lights will stay on all the time unless you put them on the off setting. This means the cabin lights don't automatically come on when you open the door, but will still come one when you turn them on manually. Other issues that the pictures might not show clearly:A tear in the drivers seat which has been sewn back together. A crack in the instrument panel clear plastic cover. As for the transmission issue, I have not taken it to a mechanic or service center to get the problem diagnosed. The transmission slips out of gear frequently enough to classify this car as not really drivable beyond around town errands. Opinions on the problem range from "it needs solenoids or a valve body replacement" to "replace the transmission". In any case, the issue will limit drive-ability and therefore needs to be addressed for the continuing operation of the car. For pickup of the car: I or you can drive it within 25 miles of San Diego. Further than that, I would recommend a tow service or driving on back roads.
