1966 CHEVROLET CAPRICE CLASSIC Sport Bucket Seats: V8 + Console Shift AT 2-DOOR HARDTOP - Show &Go !! Classic 1966 Muscle Car, Chevy Caprice, that runs strong ... and sounds great ... starts right up ... idles & runs smooth with lots of power ...drives like a dream. A classic car that is in very solid & rust free condition. This was a California built car (VIN Code –7th Digit “C”) that had spent most of its life in a dry climate. Since then it has been garaged and taken care of. This is a VERY RARE & RUST FREE SURVIVOR! I have checked inside floor pans, in the trunk (all original rust free pan), in wheel wells, up under car, the hood and trunks lids, door frames, etc...please see photos This 1966 Caprice Sport was being restored as a weekend driver & show car. It has a new shiny Chevy White paint with silver side stripings. It has custom solid aluminum racing wheels & radial tires; 235/60/14 on front & 235/50/15 new BF Goodrich T/A’s on rear. It has a fairly new dual exhaust with Flow-Master type mufflers which give it nice Muscle Car sound… it is throaty & impressive but not too loud sounding. The engine idles beautifully and sounds totally high performance. The transmission shifts strong and cars runs and drives great with an amazing amount of power …as you would expect for a vintage true 60’s “Muscle Car” in this condition. This classic has had a fully rebuilt & vintage Chevy HP Peformance 350 V8 engine installed; circa early 70’s. Engine has an electronic ignition and a Carter Competition Series 4 barrel carb. You can see under hood that most hoses, wires and all else is clean & fairly new. The V8 has polished aluminum deep valve covers & breather caps, etc. The 350 Engine shows as a high performance type; but I have no actual history on rebuild. The V8 runs strong, runs clean and really sounds great. The interior looks like original condition, very well kept with some seat wear. It is the Sport Optioned Caprice, which compares to the Impala SS; see web page comments pasted below. It has the Strato Bucket Seats & console shift AT… along with the full set of factory gauges and dual chromed mirrors. Somebody has put a funky AM/FM radio with detachable face in the car (shown loose and not fully attached in photos) but the stock Delco Chevrolet radio is still with the car to be easily changed back. (The underside of the console glove box door has been repaired and cannot be seen & the windshield has a small rock chip crack in the upper left side) There are full seatbelts in the car; the rear ones are tucked up under the back seat. The car has factory power steering & brakes, factory full power electric windows; plus the factory tinted window option. (The power windows worked slowly so the owners just had new front power window motors on both sides professionally installed & lubed. They now work great; at a cost to owners of about $450+ ) Look in the trunk, up and under front hood & rear trunk lid... all shiny and an amazing condition survivor. I took it out for photos and got a “thumbs up”… & “cool car” comments ... it is a fun, powerfull & sporty car to drive. The photos taken do not do the shiny paint or this car justice! ESTATE SALE: This car has been pulled from storage and is sold as shown. Car has a clear WA Title in hand. It is part of a classic car collection that is being estate cleared & sold from storage. Optional on both models was a Strato bench seat which combined bucket-style seat backs and center armrest with a bench cushion for six-passenger seating. Coupes could also be ordered with a sport interior featuring Strato bucket seats and center console with floor shifter, storage compartment, courtesy lighting and full instrumentation at the front end of the console that was integrated with the lower instrument panel – in essence a more luxurious Impala SS.
