I am listing my Guards Red RS America on eBay because I want to tell everything I know about the car and there is not enough room on other web-based venues. So, if you are looking for a steal then this is not the place. If you are willing to pay a fair price for a low mileage outstanding RS America then keep on reading. Very few RS Americas remain in 100% original or near original condition. This is a “no-reserve” auction with an opening bid amount that I consider to be in favor of the buyer. Of course, I hope it goes higher because this is truly a great RS America. My wife and I are long-time members of the Porsche Club of America. You will see magnetic “59” numbers in one of the photos. This was my age when my wife bought the car for me as a birthday present, not track numbers, because the car has never been raced. This RS America has been used primarily for club touring, annual Porsche Parades and local show & shines. We have enjoyed being the caretaker of this unique car but now it is time to let someone else have fun with it. This RS America is #363 of 701 that were built. This early model has factory welded body seams, rolled fenders, storage bins and all of the unique RS America features that were not included on some of the later ones in order to lower manufacturing cost. On Feb-03-11 at 11:51:07 PST, seller added the following information: I received an email from a viewer asking about the "accident" report. This is the first time I have received a question about the car being involved in an accident. If you look at the eBay generated report it clearly shows an accident report in 1994. When I bought the car I ran a Carfax that did not show an accident. When I listed the car for sale I ran a Carfax to send to potential buyers. It does not show an accident. I think the eBay report picked up something that Carfax did not. When I was purchasing the car I checked it out very thoroughly for any signs of body damage or a collision. I could find nothing. I can find no sign of overspray or any indication that any fastener has ever had a wrench put to it. I am confident that if this report had to do with something minor but I have now way of knowing that. As I said in the listing, I recommend the buyer to come and inspect the car first hand. If you find anything you don't like, the deal is off, no harm, no foul. Another point, the eBay generated report says that this is a one owner car. This is not correct. The car has had several owners but they all maintained the car as is noted in the service manual. Porsche Boise is our local Porsche dealer. They do not have a body shop. They sub their work out to a near-by company Franklin Autobody. Today I took my car there for an inspection. The scanned the report but I don't know how to upload it because it is a pdf file not a jpg file. So I took a photo of it. It is a two page report but I only have room for one more photo so only page one is added. I am not sure if it will be legible so here is what it says: Franklin Autobody Dave Higgs 208-323-1886 Remarks: No apparent signs of collision repair. Car is in great condition inside & out.
