Vehicle Detail
This solar gold Trans Am is the best equipped Trans Am that I have seen. First of all, it is not a Macho T/A. It is just painted to look like one. It does have all of the most desirable options wanted on these cars. It has the 4 speed transmission with the Pontiac 400, 220 h.p. engine, the WS6 special performance package with 4 wheel disc brakes, the fisher t-top. It was also ordered with these options. - Hood Decal - Air Conditioning - Remote Control Deck Lid Release - Rear Window Defroster - All Tinted Glass - Dome Reading Lamp - Power Door Locks - Power Windows - AM FM Cassette Stereo - Tilt Steering Wheel - Intermitent Wipers - Custom Velour Hobnail Interior See attached dealer invoice for all options. The car has its original engine which seems to run well. The original intake manifold and carb have been replaced with an edelbrock and a carter. The originals are with the car though and are include with the sale. The original air cleaner and shaker assembly are included, but have been removed because it does not fit the carter carb very well. The brakes work but feel really soft. The A.C. compressor and brackets have been removed but are with the car. The car is basiclly original and would need a complete restoration. The only place were there is more than just suface rust is the bottom of the front fenders. The trunk, floors, and quarters are all good. There is some light surface rust on the quarters though. I do not know about under the wheel flares as they have not been removed. I do not know everthing about this car I have only had it for a couple of weeks. Before I aquired it, it had been sitting for about 8 years. The person that I got the car from stated that it had been in his family since 1980. I cleaned out the old gas, changed the oil, and got it running and have driven it to make sure that it is drivable for shipping. I have made of list of some of the obvious items that will need attention, but keep in mind that the cars needs a complete restoration. The door hinges are really bad. The driver door closes on the jamb and the handle is broken. The front passenger side inner fender is missing. The heater core has been by-passed. The air duct system under the dash has been removed, but is with the car. The rear window was replaced with a non defroster one. I was told that the engine had been rebuilt once. The oil dip stick is not the correct one. It is too short and gives the appearance of no oil. I tried one from one of my other cars and it works fine. This is an excellent car for a restoration. It will require minimal body work as it is really quite straight. It has the right stuff to make it a very valuable car. Please ask questions if you are not sure about anyhting. I will be glad to share with you what I know and to help you with shipping. Call me anytime. Dave 801-518-0378 Zip code for shipping: 84096
