Vehicle Detail

MODEL A SPEEDSTER/MODIFIED What we have here is a fun, attention getting, traditional Model A speedster that was built correct and not “thrown together” for shock value. This is not a RAT ROD!!! I have driven this car to most of the “big” car shows in FL this year including a 200+ mile round trip down to Orlando for the Rumbler’s Car Show (where it won Best in Show from the Albuquerque Rumbler Chapter). I have not had a mechanical issue nor brake problems. I should also mention that this car will cruise 65-68mph all day long so don’t be afraid of a “Banger” engine or being able to keep up with traffic in town. It has a clean FL title and is 100% road ready & worthy!!!! · ENGINE: ’30-’31 Ford Model A “Banger” 4 cyl with original transmission. A custom aluminum intake manifold was made to accept the larger Holley 94 carburetor to supply the fuel. Engine was also changed over to an alternator and a very small cut down electric fan to keep it dependably charged & cooled. Very smooth, well running engine that I have had no problems with driving daily! Fuel is held by a Model T oval gas tank and a small electric fuel pump sends it to the front. SUSPENSION/FRAME: Custom 2x3 frame keeps everything straight, true and low without being “over the top” or ridiculous. The rear is an original Model A with the buggy spring and rear wishbones. The front setup is called a “suicide” but don’t let the name fool you it is very safe and handles potholes like a champ! The time was put into designing the suspension so it handles like a dream and not a “workout” to drive. BODY: ’28-’29 Ford Model A cowl with handmade rear section. Very nicely painted a tan/sand color that really makes it stand out in the sea of flat black at car shows! The body is solid and very straight. Headlights are painted to match. INTERIOR: Custom made seats from black material give it a “completed” look while being very comfortable at the same time. My back has never hurt from driving this car. BRAKES/WHEELS/TIRES: 21” wire Model A rims with Model A hubcaps keep this beast stuck to the road. I also have a second set of brand new Firestone Whitewall (21” also) for sale if you are interested already mounted on rims. The speedster is running only rear mechanical brakes at this time which is more than adequate to stop it if you stay focused on driving. I live in a college town and have had college girls constantly pull out in front of me and slam on their brakes with no incident. You could add front mechanical brakes if you found that you wanted to. This car is a blast and hopefully someone who can drive it regularly like it’s meant to be can pick it up. When going down the streets I’ve been told it looks like something out of the ‘30s which exactly what it was meant to be! You will get attention but I’ve never come across someone who had bad comments about it. I say again it is NOT a rat rod. It is a traditional styled hot rod that is safe, fun, and great conversation starter at gas stations!!! I've had tons of questions surrounding the extra 21" Firestone Whitewall Tires (already mounted on black Model A rims) with brand new Model A Hubcaps. If the final bid reaches RESERVE or higher I will throw them in with the speedster. If not they can be purchased separately for an additional $500. They really do change the look of the car which is a very nice thing to be able to do so simply. I'll be adding pictures of them in a New headgasket, light bulbs, battery kill switch, water pump, radiator fan, exaust manifold and gasket, radiator psesure tested all this month!
