Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1957 Pontiac Safari Super Chief gasser/rat rod wagon, the War Wagon. Though the pics tell most of the story, here are some of the specs. It started off life as a low production number (V8 with manual trans) Safari Super Chief. It now features a early Ford or Dodge straight axle with "buggy spring", not parallel leaf springs like are found on most gassers. The front has heavy duty shocks, with a sway bar. The rear axle was flipped to match the height of the front, and has home built track bars. It still has the Pontiac 347 (with fender well exit exhaust, and Edelbrock carb on the stock 4 barrel intake), but now has a early Chevrolet truck 4 speed with granny 1st gear, and the parking brake handle on the side of the case. Also has internally regulated alternator, new points distributor, and a 4 core heavy duty radiator. Centerline wheels on all 4 corners, with BFG 205/70r14s and 275/60r15s.The front end is all steel, but has been converted to tilt. The rest of the body is in pretty good shape, with a few dents here and there, but nothing major. And all the stainless is in near perfect condition, with the exception of some surface rust on the rear bumper and grille. The driver quarter window is spider webbed, but sill intact, the door windows are all plexi-glass, with the exception of the passenger front door, which is also spider webbed, but intact. The dash is near perfect! All the stock gauges work, with the exception of the fuel gauge, which I believe to a problem with the sending unit. All lights work, including turn and brakes. I dont have wiper arms on it, so I can't say whether the vacuum wipers work or not. I can go on and on about it, but whats important to say is that this car is a DRIVER! Drove it everyday last year. And have had lots of fun with it. Though you literally can't go anywhere without it drawing a crowd. Feel free to email with any questions. Winner bidder will be responsible for pick up and transport of vehicle. Car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Also the rear door handles, which can be easily re-installed by removing the plates that are epoxied from the inside (I wanted to see if I liked it before I welded them up permanent) On Jan-30-11 at 18:42:37 PST, seller added the following information: Heres a short clip..http://www.youtube.com/user/ymisobd?feature=mhum#p/a/u/1/JO1LfuTKQNU
