Vehicle Detail

This is my 56 Ford Customline 2 door sedan. It is one of the nicer, unmolested survivor cars you will find. I purchased the car from the family that owned it for the last 40+ years. It is not a restored car but a nice original that is fun to drive as is or an excellent candidate for full restoration. It is currently showing 123K original miles. It has its original 272 Y block V8 and 3 speed standard on the column. When I bought the car it had been sitting indoors for many years (still has last Texas inspection from 1984 on the windshield) and the intake valves had become stuck in the heads. I took the top half of the engine apart, rebuilt the heads, installed new pushrods and reassembled with all new gaskets/seals. I also rebuilt the carburetor and detailed the engine while it was apart as well. Before starting it I also installed a new gas tank and sending unit in the rear and a new fuel pump at the engine. The brakes recieved all new hoses, wheel cylinders and master cylinder. As mentioned it is not a fully restored car so its showing its age in places. the interior is complete and original but has seat covers over the front seats. the rear is still protected by its original plastic! The door panels are in very nice shape but the armrests need to be replaced. The chrome and stainless on the car is in very nice condition. The car has had only 1 repaint back in 1978 which I have the reciept for. It still shines and is presentable but is getting old as well. It does show minor previous rust repairs at the bottom of the front fenders behind the wheel and in the rear corner of the passenger door. Also has an area in front of the passenger rear wheel under the quarter panel where it meets the inner fender that has rust, see pictures. I have also included pics showing the general condition of the bottom of the car which is very clean and rust free. The tires are old bias plys and will need to be replaced as well but can be driven locally. I live outside of Houston but the car is currently stored at a friends house in Thorndale, Texas which is outside of Austin while im working on building a new house. I can either meet buyer there with it or I will bring it back to Houston to meet or assist with shipping if need be. On Jan-30-11 at 12:00:43 PST, seller added the following information: I picked the car up from storage and brought it back to home to Houston yesterday so its available to view anytime.
