2001 Ford Expedition VERY NICE EDDIE BAUER EDITION CONDITION OF TRUCK This is my personal SUV. I purchased her several months ago at an auction in Georgia. I was upgrading from my 98 Expedition. This expedition sold with some minor engine problems. All fixable for about $300 to $600. Before we drove home to Alabama I had the truck checked out at local mechanic. We had everything checked along with flushes and an oil change. We had a diagnostic test done. Truck was using 5 out of 8 cylinders. They cleared the info so we would have a clean reading by the time we arrived home. The truck would run a little ruff at slower speeds. Once you picked up speed she was fine. I babied it home from Georgia to Alabama and did just fine. I drove her daily but was very careful not to push and we did fine. It was about 2 months before we could get her to the mechanics shop. When we took it to the Mechanic....one day later they killed it. Apparently they were test driving the truck after checking spark plugs. We made a Clear point asking them NOT to drive the her. They said when they got back to the shop after one or more test drives, it locked up and wouldn't start again. *They are know longer in business and we were unable to get compensation before they were gone. We towed her to another mechanic who checked her out. Without getting totaly involved and commited to a new engine it's hard to tell exactly what's wrong. May have water on the cylinder, keeping the engine locked. Can't be sure wether its Intake or Head. I would love to fix my truck. However at this time I have a limited amount of extra cash to put back into my truck if it get's more expensive. Small issues The air wasn't blowing cold but all the controls worked fine and heat worked, I think she was low on freon. Lower part of the front bumper has a dent in it (see pic). It's missing the rear windshield wiper. The drivers side rearview mirror has been glued back on. DETAILS Black w/ Tan Fender Wells V8 4.6L Engine 226K Smooth Automatic Transmission.
