Vehicle Detail

This is a matching number 1974 Z-28 factory 4-spd car. It has PS, PBD and factory rally gauges. The 350 engine code is CLJ and the VIN# on the block definitely matches the VIN# on the dash. The cowl tag has the Z28 code as well. No clones or rebodies here. The car has mostly original paint code 74 Medium Red (met) and doesn't look good. The interior is factory black bucket seats. Two new quarters have been hung. The passenger quarter body work is finished, but the driver's side quarter is just tacked on and needs to be finished. There is a small hole in the trunk and passenger floor (about 2" each). The corners of the doors and lower fenders have a small amount of rust that could be easily patched and fixed. The passenger doors has some dents, but included with the sale is another door and a fender patch panel. All the body work could be done on this car in a few days. The engine runs strong and always starts right up. The clutch, tranny, rear end and suspension all seem good. The car has brakes and an okay exhaust, but the car needs a full restoration. Both front seats have tears, the rear seat is good. The headliner is fine, but one rear interior side panel is missing. The taillights are not installed. The original wheels are nice, but it needs tires. I also have a new stripe kit for the car. Overall this is a real decent matching number 350, 4-spd 1974 Z-28 that would make a great father and son project. Even these years are getting hard to find this original. My reserve is less than the buy it now so please be serious if you bid.On Feb-01-11 at 18:52:33 PST, seller added the following information:I have had a few questions about my car, so I thought I would try to answer some of them. The four speed Muncie transmission is also matching numbers and original. It still has the neutral safety switch installed so you have to depress the clutch to start the car and it must be put into reverse to remove the key. The factory sway bars are there and it has a posi rear end, 3.42 gears I believe. The underside of the car is solid. The subframe, body mount area and the frame rails in the rear are all good. However, I noticed a metal patch on the driver's floor and the hole on the passenger floor is a little bigger than I originally thought. A patch maybe six inches square should take care of it. The car does run and drive, but should be transported home. I hope this helps.
