Vehicle Detail
I am listing my 1992 Subaru SVX LS-L that was converted over from an automatic to a 5 speed manual transmission. The previous owner installed a low mileage 2004 WRX 5 speed transmission and it has worked great since I have owned it. I love this car but unfortunately it is not practical anymore since I have a 9 month old son and a new baby on the way. I do not have to sell the car, I am merely listing it in the event someone is truly interested in it. I will keep it if no one is prepared to make a decent offer on it. I have performed many upgrades and maintenance on this so I am completely confident in the way it runs and drives. I drive it every day for my daily driver, I used to drive it back and forth from pennsylvania to new jersey every week which put on a few miles but shows it's reliability. Here is everything that I have repaired/replaced (I am sure I have forgotten some items); The previous owner I purchased this car from told me that all of the ball joints were replaced around 133k miles, I haven't had any issues with them. He also told me that there was an upgrade chip installed in the ECM, I think a stage II chip but I am not sure and haven't had the ambition to remove and check. There is a custom exhaust on the car that gives it a good rumble when driving, not too obnoxiously loud. At 145K miles I replaced the front cv joints, alternator, and replaced the fuel filter when performing routine maintenance. At 155k miles the headgasket began to fail so I removed and replaced the engine from a lower mileage parts SVX that I have (approx 110k miles). In this process the engine was gone over which included new timing belt, pulley's, water pump, spark plugs, thermostat, various hoses and serpentine belts. The gaskets were all inspected and replaced as necessary. Air conditioning pump serviced when engine was reinstalled. New Exedy Clutch package installed with engine. Along with the engine I replaced all four rotors with cross-drilled and slotted rotors, new brake pads, new calipers, inspected all brake lines and completely flushed the system with new fluid. Installed new Falken Ziex tires. At this time the car was repainted a custom dark metallic gray which really makes the car look good, unfortunately the door jams didn't get painted so they are the original color. It won't take much to get it painted just haven't gotten around to it yet. Once the winter arrived I began having troubles with the heater, after flushing the system and talking to members of the subaru-svx.net forum I determined it was a faulty Auto Zone thermostat. I obtained an OEM thermostat from the Subaru dealer and once installed the heater functioned normally so it has a new OEM thermostat and gasket. The heat works great now so there are no issues driving in the winter time. This is equipped with a sliding moon roof that functions normally, the only issue I have ever had with it is that sometimes I have to push up on it to get it started in its movement. Power drivers seat, power mirrors, power locks, power mirros, etc.. all of the normal stuff that comes with the LS-L package in 92. Also has a custom cd player installed and the factory one was removed. I would like to say that this car is perfect but with it being a 19 year old car I can't guarantee everything on it. So far it runs and drives great with no indications of any potential issues. It will be sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied but don't let that deter you. It is a great running car and will make a new owner very happy. Like I said before I do not have to sell it, just putting it out there to see if the right offer comes along. The pictures of the interior didn't come out the greatest so for anyone interested shoot me an email and I will provide better pictures. I drive this everyday back and forth to work, approximately 35 miles round-trip so the mileage will change a little from what I have in the listing. Anyone interested in taking a look at the car don't hesitate to contact me. If the buyer wants the vehicle shipped they will have to do it at there own expense as well as provide the full payment prior to the car leaving my possession.
