Vehicle Detail
Nice looking Volvo 262C, one owner, bought new at the Portland International Auto Show in 1980, this was a display car for Volvo at the show. Always garaged, always dealer serviced, the car comes with every service receipt from new. High miles for the PRV-6 motor, but goes to show you the results from pride of ownership. The car runs and drives really well, doesn't smoke, has good power, I'm hearing what might be the beginnings of a small exhaust leak, otherwise no mechanical issues. Suspension is tight, brakes are good, the car shifts great and the overdrive is operational. The big deal with this car is that is a factory 4 speed. Total production of 262C's from 1977-81 were 6622, it's estimated just 10 percent have the M46 box with electric overdrive. The body on this car is very straight, it's had one repaint and the paint quality is really excellent. Black is tough to get right, the car wears it well. No rust issues on the car with the one exception of one oddball spot on the C-pillar and an equally strange little nit to the left of the license plate, see photos. Both spots show minor bubbling, nothing has broken through. Undercarriage, rockers, and door sills are all pristine with no problems. All of the glass are originals in good shape, the windshield has been replaced with a Volvo branded Pilkington piece. Tires are BF Goodrich Touring TA's with good tread. Trunk has the original Vredestein spare and jack in a carpeted slipcase. The interior has held up really well, another testament to its garaged existence. The leather seats are still firm and supportive, showing just normal patina from age. Back seat hasn't seen much use, headliner is excellent, dash shows one small crack near the back of the instrument cluster section. Power windows work well, heating-cooling-fan systems are all operational, AC works but will most likely need to be charged up this summer. Original radio and electric antenna work but cassette doesn't. Clock keeps good time. Email with any questions, this car is being sold with NO RESERVE, the high bid owns it. Thanks for looking!
