Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a 93 Merceces 400E 4DR Sedan. This is most likely one of the cleanest 400E's you will ever see. This car is super clean, very comfortable and very nice looking. The paint color is Pearl Black with Grey leather interior. Most of the 90's mercedes came stock with fake leather interiors. This car has the actual leather upgrade option which at the time cost $4,000. Just put brand new Yokohama H rated performance tires on it and had it aligned ($700 worth). The tires are practically brand new. Engine is a 4.2 Liter V8 that produces 275HP and 295 ft/lbs of torque. It is very fast and will cart around 4 people with ease. Surprisingly I get over 20 miles per gallon at each fill up. I have installed a new CD deck unit that is a dvd player as well and is also touch screen. Transmission is a 4-speed automatic. 138,555 miles. Negatives: The right front fender was VERY recently rolled into by another car while parked. This was a hit and run and I never discovered who did it. The right front fender is the only area that is involved. I have had 2 quotes to repair it like new for around $500. The sunroof needs some work. The motor is fine but there is a problem with the rail system which guides the roof to slide back. The roof still pops up and down as it is supposed to but needs to be repaired for sliding back and forth. Lastly, The transmission shifts perfectly through all 4 gears. I drive it occasionally once or twice a week and it's a pleasure. The car really drives wonderfully. However, reverse gear is pretty much shot. Sometimes it will engage but it's best to plan on not. I have had the car and transmission evaluated professionally by a transmission shop. They found nothing specifically wrong and just suggested that some seals where going bad and this was typical for the Daimler transmission after a certain amount of use. The specific parts can be replaced for around $600 (from the quotes I've received) or you can rebuild the transmission. The car literally is good for another 100,000 + miles but needs some service to get it ready. This car parted out can bring well over $10,000. However it is in way too good of shape to be a parts car. You have to see it for yourself. Also, the radio antennae motor has gone bad. I have checked it and it is just the motor. I located one at a local salvage yard for $60.00. They seem to be pretty obtainable. The cigarette light/ashtray door sometimes sticks. There is nothing else that I am aware of. I have been driving the car the last week as my daily driver rather than let it sit and and it has been a pleasure!
