For sale is a very very rare 1983 109 High Capacity (HI-Cap) Pickup with only 39,159 original miles. Land Rover only manufactured this model for about 14 months and made less than 500 in total. All original with the exception of the Disco Steel Wheels, but we have a set of original road style wheels you can have in trade for the Discovery wheels at the option of the buyer. The other non-original aspect is the driver and passenger seats have been upgraded with the more comfortable county tweed seats with head rests. eBay does not like the correct VIN number so we had to list it as a 1980. The good... The engine is a 2.25 diesel that starts immediately and runs smooth. Transmission shifts perfectly. Dash is not all cut up by knuckleheads mounting stereo systems and extra gauges. No leaks and most important NO RUST holes or flaking metal anywhere (frame, bulkhead, and so on). Minor surface rust in footwells. Steering is Right Hand Drive. The bad... Body is straight except for a few small dings and dents to one of the front fenders, one door post is dented in slightly. One door top has a tear in the aluminum. The exterior has been painted green with some Texas pinstripes. The window tracks are mostly missing from age, but for the most part the windows move freely with some force. I have done an honest job to describe it and emphasize the negative aspects. This is not a fast highway vehicle and I would not want to drive it across the country. Conditions... Buyer must pay a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours and pay the balance and remove the vehicle within 14 days or pay storage. I am not an automobile dealer so don't ask me how much it will cost to ship this vehicle to timbooktu, because I don't know and you can find out just as easy as I can. Also DO NOT ask me if it will make it to your house because we do not have a crystal ball. We just got it, put in fuel and a battery, fired it up, drove it around the neighborhood and parked it. I wanted to keep it but my wife says it has to go, so that is why it is for sale. This vehicle is not perfect as it is sold as is where is.
