Vehicle Detail
FOR AUCTION:: 1- 1966 GMC PICK-UP TRUCK CUSTOM FLEET SIDE 250cu.in. inline 6 cylinder with a 3 speed manual transmission. The shifter in the picture is in 1st gear to show that it does not hit the seat. It has a custom made shifter! I do not know if chevy's and gmc's came off the same assembly line. This one is #4 so if they did. Maybe the first three were chevy's making this the 1st GMC? But at worst it is #4! INTERIOR:: New original seat cover, new original rubber floor mat, new paint complete, new heater duct hose, new door seal rubber, new chrome door sill plates, new shifter, new interior light lens, refurbished gas tank with new rubber under tank straps, new door safety catch latches, new headlight dimmer switch. EXTERIOR:: New paint-"INTENSE BLUE PEARL METAL FLAKE" (this is a good solid paint job (which has flaws) and in most cases taken to the metal and epoxied primed, with minimum 3 coats of paint) paint does need to be buffed out (the flash from the camera makes it look a lot lighter than the color is, although the sun light does make the heavy pearl metal flake change a little. The unaltered color from light is the gallery picture color), All trim was removed before paint and put back with all new metal clips, New chrome factory side mirror, New chrome factory wiper arms and new blades, New front turn signals complete, New rear turn signal lens, all bulbs are new front and back, New rear trailer hitch 1 7/8", New CUSTOM wood bed from BEDWOOD INC. with polished stainless steel hardware and strips, replaced both front fenders with very nice same year fenders, 6 cyl. emblems were replaced, the truck has 6 lug 15" wheels with slightly used beauty rings and new center cap emblems, tires are used but have roughly 5 thousand miles on them, all of the glass is in great shape with no chips or cracks. DRIVE TRAIN :: 250cu.in. motor that purrs like a kitten, original 3 speed transmission with a heavy duty clutch that shifts very nice, new upper and lower radiator hoses, radiator has been flushed and cleaned, new heater hoses, new heater core, new thermostat, new fan belt, valve train has been reset with new valve cover gasket, new valve cover chrome cap, new chrome gas filter, new plugs, new distributor cap-points-condenser-rotor, new plug wires, new plugs, new oil (10w30) and filter, new battery and cables, new air filter, new master cylinder, new front brake shoes, original exhaust manifold had a crack in it so I replaced it with a very good one from a same year nova, new intake, exhaust, and doughnut gasket, new exhaust from manifold to rear tip, with a new muffler and hangers, the underside is as clean as the interior (almost all of it was taken to metal and painted), new shocks front and rear, new clutch dust cover, in most cases all new bolts were used when anything was removed, new wiper washer bottle and lines, & new starter relay. The truck still needs a few odds and ends but very few! The body and inside the bed have a few nicks and dings. With the sell goes a quart of unmixed paint (equals almost 1/2 gallon mixed) if repairs or touch-ups are so desired. The paint is not show room quality as I explained earlier but IT IS SOLID AND SEALED WELL! This truck is being listed TO SELL with NO RESERVE. I am retired and enjoy fixing up these old vehicles for the fun of it. If you have any questions PLEASE do not hesitate. I will try to answer them the best I can. This truck is sold AS IS with NO LIENS on it. It will be sold with a bill of sale only. If paper work is needed to be filled out by me for tagging, I have no problem with that!! GOOD LUCK & GOD BLESS, DCV On Jan-21-11 at 06:03:37 PST, seller added the following information: Truck has a new rubber shifter boot and chrome attaching plate too. I'll add stuff as I try to remember everything I put on it. DCV On Jan-25-11 at 07:08:08 PST, seller added the following information: To all of the people concerned:: After a lot of debate about the emblems on this truck I have finally gotten to the bottom of it. When I purchased this truck it did not have any emblems on it. I bought these off of ebay and was told they were correct for a inline 6cyl. for this year! After going through two older parts guy's at GM dealers I have found out that they are incorrect. I am 56 and have been working on everything under the sun since 13 and did not know they had a v-6 from 59 to 64 I believe it was. So, the emblems are "NOT CORRECT" on this truck! The 6 cyl. trucks supposedly did not have a emblem. Just the v-6 and v-8's. I apologize to anyone that I may have offended but I was only going by what I was told. Believe me I would not have paid $60.00 for these if I knew I did not need them. So, I guess the new owner can sell them for a few bucks if he or she wants. Anyway, again I am sorry if I came off wrong to anyone that emailed me. David
