Vehicle Detail
1956 f-100 FOR SALE “She (Effie) is not perfect, but she’s mine” All kidding aside, this truck has many parts that keep it looking like a classic but allows it to have a little attitude! As most of these trucks do, this one gets the Looks and “Nice Truck Comments” all the time... Ford small block 5.0 engine out of 89 mustang, Shorty headers, Flow Master exhaust with new pipes to the rear, Ford Motorsports cam, lifters and Edlelbrock manifold and 650 Carburetor with AOD 4 speed automatic. Rear end is a middle 1980’s ford truck, has rear sway bar with 3.23 gear and new DJM spring hangers. Front end of this truck is Twin I-Beam. It rides exceptionally well on Firestone airbags and 3.5 inch DJM drop I-Beams. Both front (15 x 7.5) and back (15 x 10) Polished Aluminum wheels are 5 x 5.5 bolt patterns with like new Firestone tires… This truck does not have heat or air conditioning! Dash is not cut up, key switch and knobs are correct. However, the parking brake is now a push to lock style (not pull up) and works great. Step side bed and rear fenders are a newer, aftermarket metal kit, with flat top rails. Under the bed floor is pressure treated ply-board with a topper. This topper is a semi-custom manmade product that has been stained with a dark walnut polyurethane finish; some people refer to this manmade product as “Hardi Plank”. The bed floor is also accented by the polished stainless steel runner rails. If I wouldn’t have told you about the materials; you may have not known the difference. Inner wheel tubs are fiberglass! Allowing for more room (approx 2.0") if the 10” wheel width is not enough for you. Running boards have been professionally cut and tapered to meet the rear fenders. Custom fabricated under the rear bed aluminum, 13 gallon fuel cell with Cool Cap filler lid cover. Dakota Digital Dash. One piece tinted side glass (I have the original glass and parts), new rear tinted glass, windshield appears to be aftermarket, but much older and it shows. Stereo mounted in glove box, with MP-3 & I-Pod plug (hidden in ash tray). No-Limit Front Tilt Hood Kit, Cooling Concepts Electric Fan with temperature activated switch, Custom modified new model (Ford Truck) Seat with upholstery, Seat belts, Tilt Steering and automatic selector column (Ford), Power Steering Box (Ford-truck) recently changed , Classic Style aftermarket steering wheel and horn kit, Painless Wiring Harness (front to rear), and a full California Car Cover made specifically for the model and year. What’s wrong with it? The very top of the cab has some bubble spots on it (see picture) that I have been told are more from lack of preparation during the discount paint job. There are no known or visible rusted out panels on this truck. However, being brutally honest, the paint on this truck is not real good! On a scale of 1-10, I say it’s a 3. It looks decent, but has sanding dust and now many road chips and quite frankly it needs to be striped and repainted. The engine has an oil leak coming from the pan gasket, that I changed myself. This change included a new one piece fel-pro kit, it leaked again, and I am tired of dealing with it. Air bag line has a slow leak that over a few days allows the bags to go down. I also have some extra go fast parts. A 351w short block (needs rebuild), a complete high performance top end kit (High rise manifold, Performance lift Cam, lifters, Pro Comp heads, stainless steel headers, and complete ignition system, valve covers) it is a 400hp combo, with another used AOD transmission, to the person who buys this truck for $12k or more…. Note: All the top end engine parts are considered used as they were bolted on the 351w block I still have, then removed, but cleaned up and put back in boxes… Do you have some time and some extra funds to make this the show and go truck it deserves? Please understand, I have no plans to haul it or drive it anywhere and you would have to consider the north side of Houston, TX as the pickup point and you should consider using a qualified transport company, for hauling, as it is highly recommended. I will not entertain low ball offers, or a trade. Winning bidder will be required to submit a $500 deposit to lock in the bid purchase. Payment with confirmation will be by wire transfer from your account, before truck and Texas title is released…. For additional questions or clarification, call 832-642-7336 On Jan-17-11 at 19:34:10 PST, seller added the following information: Attention viewers and potential buyers! Based on the questions I have received and the full transparency I wish to maintain. The following information is for your consideration. The front suspension was either grafted to the 1956 Ford Truck frame, or it could be a complete frame, from a 1979 Ford Truck with the Twin I-Beam.. I do not know the answer, however, I know for sure it has 3.5 inch drop axles, with D J M spring towers, that have Firestone Air Bags installed. The Air Lift Compressor, is mounted under the truck on the frame rail, next to the battery box. The air switch and gauge, are next to the stereo in the glove box (see picture). The front end has the Ford truck Disc brakes and the rear are drums.I rated the paint job (low 3) but failed to rate the body work (not sure, but 3 seems to be the answer) that may help to answer what is needed.. There are no major dents or missing parts. There are scratches, dings and areas on the edges of the door, hood, tailgate that are or will need minor body work; when you strip and re-paint the truck......... Oh the front bumper is not completely straight across the top and does not show in the photo. Remember, this is not a show truck! This was a street driven truck and per my statement, if you have the time and money to put into her, she can be something even more special...The A.O.D. transmission allows the truck to cruise at about 2000 rpm at 70 mph, whereas the previous F M X 3 speed ran 3000 rpm at 70.... The VIN plate is missing (usually on drivers door jamb), there are no visible VIN stamps on the frame, however, it has a clear Texas Title with a VIN# C3TALA25C and has been registered in the state of Texas, 10 plus years.... Do what you want with her... Strip her down, use or sell the parts or just plan to drive....If you do not want the extra parts, let me know, they are only worth about $2,000 On Jan-19-11 at 07:43:22 PST, seller added the following information: More questions and comments came up. If you live outside the State of Texas, check your state laws and process for title and registering, a vehicle that has no visible Vin # (stamp, tag or reference), to the clear and hard title I hold. I'm told, it will be problematic for many.... Some may have an old parts truck (year, make, model), and choose to use your title, Vin# plate ect and overcome the title and Vin# issues! Some may choose to have a new vin plate made, through many sources; like Bob's F-100's (CA) or Mid Fifties Ford (AZ). And if your state allows the same... I am committed to the ebay process! Bid to own the truck. I know I can pull the ad at anytime. It will likely sell in the $15-17k range... The engine runs well, does not smoke or blow oil out of the tail pipes. I run 10w-40 oil in the truck, and although 30w oil, might slow the gasket leak. I would not plan on buying this truck and driving it across the country. Get the truck HAULED to you, make sure you correct the deficiencies and enjoy... Anything else? 832-642-7336
