1955 Packard 400 The 400 is considered by many to be a "Sportier" version of the Patrician with a much more bold look. This Packard is a 2 door hardtop that has its original Turqouise and White paint which is very good condition. Original Chrome Plating that is Dent Free and Rust Free, with only minor pitting that is only visible upon close inspection, and is overall in very good condition. The car is also equipped with Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power antenna, and heater. The interior seats have been recovered with black fabric, which is completmented by its original white and turquoise leather, and is in premium condition. (Check pictures) The Packard has 4 newer cooker classic 800-15 tires, with an original Firestone for the spare. The underside of the car is also in very good condition. The car is equipped with dual exhaust that is housed through its bumpers. This Packard is equipped with the Packards "famous" Torsion level suspension system, that is considered by many professionals to be one of the best suspension systems ever designed for an American car. Hooded head lamps and tail lamps, along with its abundant chrome certifies this vehicle as one visually beautiful classic automobile that gets a great deal of attention from other motorists and pedestrians alike. The original owners manual is also provided, and the oil used is 10W30. All of the visuals aside, this car performs very well, providing its passengers with a smooth and powerful ride!!! As you read below, you can see the internal maintenance and upgrades that have been competed. The original engine has been replaced within the last 1000 miles. The original Packard 1955 engine has been upgraded, and replaced with the 1956 Packard V-8, 352 cu. in. engine, it is the same block as the '55, the only difference being that the 1956 engine requires a different spark plug. At the time of the engine replacement, the automatic transmission was also been replaced. The original transmission is widely viewed as the one "weak point" in the 1955 Packard. The original transmission has been upgraded with the 1977 Chrysler 727 (small block) transmission. From what I have been told by Packard mechanics/enthusiasts, this is a highly advisable replacement. Finally the fuel pump has been rebuilt, and an electric pump has been added. All of the above upgrades have occurred within the last 1000 miles. I can provide documentation of the above work.
