1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible I have an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and collectibles. Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle. This is one of those items: We received this beautiful straight clean convertible from the owner who had it in his garage for the last 11 years. It has 98k original miles. We sent this solid Texas car out for a complete mechanical check up and a new paint job. The car runs beautifully. It looks great. It has a 350 engine with an automatic transmission. It has air-conditioning and power convertible top. What is good about the car: It is a Texas car with a clear Texas title. It is solid. It has a 350 engine with an automatic transmission. It is equipped with air-conditioning. It has power brake and power steering. It has a new paint job (with receipt). It has new carpet (with receipt). It has an excellent interior. These are the things that the mechanic did to the car (with receipts): Drained and cleaned the gas tank. Replaced: the master cylinder, two wheel cylinders, two brakes calipers, hoses, and added all new brake fluid. Changed oil and filter Replaced the fuel hoses Major tune up including contact set, spark plugs, condenser, distributer cap, distributer rotor, ignition wire set, basically the works. Replaced the power steering pump These are the things that the paint shop did: They took all the chrome and the lights off the car. They removed everything from the interior of the car (seats, carpets, etc.). Please note that the floor is clean and solid. They sanded the car to bare metal. They primed and painted the car and then they taped the car again and painted the white stripes. They put in new carpet in the interior of the car including the trunk area. They replaced the trunk seal rubber. We have the pictures of the restoration What is not so good about the car: The convertible top shows wear. There is a small tear on the side of the convertible top that you can repair. The pump works very well taking the top down, but it needs a little help to bring the top up. The gas gauge needle needs to be replaced. These is a crack on the left side of the front grill The car has a clear Texas title. This is a beautiful running car. Please remember that it is not a hundred point car and it is not showroom perfect. All the inspections must be done before the auction closes. Please, please, please be sure that you have the money to purchase the car if you are bidding. Remember that this classic car is 40 years old.
