Vehicle Detail
I am second owner of this car. Purchased it from the original owner about 13 years ago. drove it for a short period of time and then took it off the road for several years to await an engine rebuild and paint job. I had the engine rebuilt by TAS Racing Motors in Greenville NC about 4 years ago. Nothing fancy. I had it bored out .030. Emissions control humps ground out of the exhaust ports. Mild cam. High performance oil pump. 650 double pumper Holley carb. I left the original exhaust manifolds. Engine is backed by a 3 spd maual transmission on the column. 3 on the tree. Very rare in these models. Interior is in great shape with only a tear in the driver's side lower bench seat. Headliner, door skins and dash are all original and in great shape. Everything works in the car down to the seat belt buzzer. The car is very powerful and very fast. I have the rear bumper and tailgate but they both had a little rust that was found when the car was painted and rather than repair I wanted to get some rust-free parts to go back with. I just ran out of money. There are two things that need attention on this car. 1.- the gas tank has twi tiny pinholes that leak gas. Needs replacing. About $250.00 in Dearborn Classic Catolog. 2.- Another pinhole in a rear brakeline so the car is operating front brakes. This car has NO rust. There is less than 300 miles on the rebuilt motor. after the engine was done I drove it to 3 or for paint shops and a few misc. other places. The car's exhaust comes down off the manifolds, turn to the rear of the car, and stops. After the engine was built up and had the bigger carb put on...my machinist recommended a bigger dual pipe system so the cars exhaust would match its intake. the smaller exhaust wasn't allowing the motor to take the fuel it was built for so I chopped the pipes. Obviously the car is super loud now and needs a exhaust system of choice. 2006 mustang rims and good tires. If there are any other questions Id be glad to answer them.
