Please also keep in mind that this is a pre-owned vehicle. As with any pre-owned vehicle, minor cosmetic flaws may be visible under close inspection. 1.2. Inspect the Vehicle. I encourage you to inspect the vehicle personally or through an inspection service prior to bidding. 1.3. Be Aware That Vehicles Are Offered As Is/No Warranty Unless Stated. Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, the vehicle is being sold “as-is”, with no warranty. I try to accurately and fairly describe any known mechanical or cosmetic issues. However, as with any vehicle, mechanical or other failures may occur from time to time, and I cannot represent or warranty that they will not. You are responsible for any repairs made after the sale. 1.4. Mileage May Vary Slightly. I indicate the mileage of each vehicle at the time of listing. Please note that actual mileage may be slightly higher at the time of the end of the auction and/or delivery due to local test drives, detailing, etc. 2. Bidding on the Vehicle 2.1. Ready to Bid? If you’re ready to bid, great! Please keep in mind a few rules regarding bidding, which follow. 2.2. A Bid Is A Legally Binding Contract. Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase this vehicle. Please do not bid if you do not intend to, or are not financially able to, complete the purchase of the vehicle. Please have your financial arrangements in place prior to bidding. 2.3. I Don’t Allow Bidders With Negative Feedback. I do not allow bidding from bidders with negative feedback. New bidders with zero feedback should contact me prior to bidding. I reserve the right to obtain and verify the registered information of all users who bid on this auction, and to cancel any and all bids at my discretion. 2.4. I May End An Auction Early. I am a licensed Florida automobile dealer, and all of my vehicles are concurrently offered for sale locally. I reserve the right to end this auction without notice at any time if the vehicle is no longer available, or for any other reason in my sole discretion. Don’t let this vehicle get away! Call me now if you would like to make an offer. 3. Completing the Transaction 3.1. Contact Me. If you are the winning bidder, congratulations! You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction. My office phone number is 239.738.4440. 3.2. Pay a Deposit. You must pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. Please see Section 3.4, below, for payment methods. 3.3. Pay the Balance Due. You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 7 days after the end of the auction. 3.4. Payment Methods. I accept cash in person (under $10,000 only), cashier’s checks, wire transfers, or commercial 3rd-party financing. I also accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only. All funds must be in US dollars. 3.5. Fees and Taxes. 3.5.1. Dealer Fee. I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions. 3.5.2. Sales Tax, Registration & Title Fees. 3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. You must pay Florida's 6% sales tax plus any local option taxes applicable in your county, and I am required to collect it at the time of the sale. You are also responsible for the cost of Florida title, tag and registration fees, which I collect an estimate of at the time of sale. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect. 3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you take delivery of the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect all or a portion of the sales tax applicable to motor vehicle sales in your state, i.e., I am required to collect either (i) the actual rate applicable in your state, or (ii) 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here (Note: although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not; please check with your local tag agency.) If your state’s sales tax rate on motor vehicles is greater than 6%, I am required to collect 6% and you will be responsible for paying the difference in your state. If you have the vehicle shipped and take delivery of it outside of Florida, I do not collect sales tax. In that case, you will be responsible for paying the sales tax applicable in your state directly. In any event, you will be responsible for handling the titling and registration of the vehicle in your state and for paying all associated fees and costs. 3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which may vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially. 3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion. 4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle 4.1. Completed Transaction. Your vehicle will be available for pick up or shipping once full payment is received and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed. 4.2. Pick Up. I am located at 2645 NE 9th Ave in Cape Coral, Florida. I am easily accessible from US 41 and from Interstate 75. The nearest airport is Southwest Florida Int’l Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. Please contact me to make arrangements if you are planning to pick the vehicle up. I can arrange to meet you at RSW and bring you to my location. 4.3. Shipping. I will happily assist you in finding a shipping company. However, you will be responsible for all arrangements and all costs of shipping. Here's a very rare and desirable ONE OWNER 1992 Mercedes-Benz 300D 2.5 Turbo Diesel up for sale. This is a NO RESERVE auction...there's no "Buy It Now" price on this one...the car will be sold to the highest bidder. I try to give as thorough and accurate a description of both the good and bad points as possible, and to show everything in pictures. If I have missed anything, or if anything is unclear, please ask before bidding.
This car is an attractive brilliant silver metallic color, which in my experience is rare. The paint looks great from 20 feet away, but up-close inspection reveals some (relatively minor, in the greater scheme of things) paint blemishes. Most notably, there is some clearcoat cracking/haze on the tops of the front fenders, the tops of the mirrors, the sunroof panel, and the driver's side rear corner. I have tried to show this in pictures as best as possible. The body is straight except for a few standard door dings here and there. There's a higher concentration of them on the driver's door, and a larger one on the lower part of the passenger side rear door. There are some cracks/chips in the headlight/foglight lenses and two small rock chip stars in the windshield. I noticed a tiny bit of surface corrosion on the underside of the driver's side rear wheel arch, and on the lower left of the inside of the passenger side rear door opening (pictured). Finally, there is a blemish near the driver's door handle, and a high concentration of scratches on the outside of the driver's door pillar (pictured). The alloy wheels are in great condition. I've done my best to capture everything in the pictures included with this listing. All in all, you can see from the whole-car shots that the car overall looks good.
The interior of the car is grey MB Tex, which is a good looking and very durable simulated leater (vinyl). The upholstery is in good shape, except for a decent-sized hole worn in the outboard bolster of the driver's seat (pictured). The dashboard is perfect and crack-free. The wood trim is in nice shape except for a few cracks and a small amount of veneer damage confined to the lower center console between the power window switches (pictured). The power windows all work properly as does the sunroof. The driver and front passenger seats are power operated and both work as they should. The A/C is cold and the heat works fine. All of the instruments work properly. Two negative items to note in the interior: the headliner is beginning to sag (pictured), and the (original factory) radio only pulls in a few very strong stations. All in all, though, the interior is in good condition.
The car has Mercedes's very durable 2.5 liter straight 5 cylinder turbodiesel engine, and an automatic transmission. The motor runs great. It fires up instantly and runs smoothly with very little smoke. The power is good. The underhood area is clean. I don't see or smell any fuel leaks. The transmission likewise performs perfectly. It goes through the gears properly and very smoothly. I have had alot of Mercedes diesels; this particular car has one of the smoothest drivetrains I've come across. The only mechanical points to note are that the cruise control doesn't work, and I noticed a little on-center vagueness in the steering. I should also report that the tires are nearing the end of their useful life. These diesels are very durable, and they are very economical to operate too. I recently drove this car from Dallas, TX to Cape Coral, FL, and it averaged over 33 MPG for the trip. If you are looking for a vegetable oil (SVO / WVO) project, this car would be an excellent candidate.

1. Before You Bid
1.1. Read the Vehicle Description and Ask Questions. Every effort is made to accurately and fairly describe the vehicles I offer. If you have a specific question or concern, please ask. Please also keep in mind that this is a pre-owned vehicle. As with any pre-owned vehicle, minor cosmetic flaws may be visible under close inspection.
1.2. Inspect the Vehicle. I encourage you to inspect the vehicle personally or through an inspection service prior to bidding.
1.3. Be Aware That Vehicles Are Offered As Is/No Warranty Unless Stated. Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, the vehicle is being sold “as-is”, with no warranty. I try to accurately and fairly describe any known mechanical or cosmetic issues. However, as with any vehicle, mechanical or other failures may occur from time to time, and I cannot represent or warranty that they will not. You are responsible for any repairs made after the sale.
1.4. Mileage May Vary Slightly. I indicate the mileage of each vehicle at the time of listing. Please note that actual mileage may be slightly higher at the time of the end of the auction and/or delivery due to local test drives, detailing, etc.
2. Bidding on the Vehicle
2.1. Ready to Bid? If you’re ready to bid, great! Please keep in mind a few rules regarding bidding, which follow.
2.2. A Bid Is A Legally Binding Contract. Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase this vehicle. Please do not bid if you do not intend to, or are not financially able to, complete the purchase of the vehicle. Please have your financial arrangements in place prior to bidding.
2.3. I Don’t Allow Bidders With Negative Feedback. I do not allow bidding from bidders with negative feedback. New bidders with zero feedback should contact me prior to bidding. I reserve the right to obtain and verify the registered information of all users who bid on this auction, and to cancel any and all bids at my discretion.
2.4. I May End An Auction Early. I am a licensed Florida automobile dealer, and all of my vehicles are concurrently offered for sale locally. I reserve the right to end this auction without notice at any time if the vehicle is no longer available, or for any other reason in my sole discretion. Don’t let this vehicle get away! 3. Completing the Transaction
3.1. Contact Me. If you are the winning bidder, congratulations! You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction. My office phone number is 239.738.4440.
3.2. Pay a Deposit. You must pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. Please see Section 3.4, below, for payment methods.
3.3. Pay the Balance Due. You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 7 days after the end of the auction.
3.4. Payment Methods. I accept cash in person (under $10,000 only), cashier’s checks, wire transfers, or commercial 3rd-party financing. I also accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only. All funds must be in US dollars.
3.5. Fees and Taxes.
3.5.1. Dealer Fee. I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions.
3.5.2. Sales Tax, Registration & Title Fees.
3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. You must pay Florida's 6% sales tax plus any local option taxes applicable in your county, and I am required to collect it at the time of the sale. You are also responsible for the cost of Florida title, tag and registration fees, which I collect an estimate of at the time of sale. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect.
3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you take delivery of the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect all or a portion of the sales tax applicable to motor vehicle sales in your state, i.e., I am required to collect either (i) the actual rate applicable in your state, or (ii) 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here (Note: although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not; please check with your local tag agency.) If your state’s sales tax rate on motor vehicles is greater than 6%, I am required to collect 6% and you will be responsible for paying the difference in your state. If you have the vehicle shipped and take delivery of it outside of Florida, I do not collect sales tax. In that case, you will be responsible for paying the sales tax applicable in your state directly. In any event, you will be responsible for handling the titling and registration of the vehicle in your state and for paying all associated fees and costs.
3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which may vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially.
3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion.
4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle
4.1. Completed Transaction. Your vehicle will be available for pick up or shipping once full payment is received and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed.
4.2. Pick Up. I am located at 2645 NE 9th Ave in Cape Coral, Florida. I am easily accessible from US 41 and from Interstate 75. The nearest airport is Southwest Florida Int’l Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. Please contact me to make arrangements if you are planning to pick the vehicle up. I can arrange to meet you at RSW and bring you to my location.
4.3. Shipping. I will happily assist you in finding a shipping company. However, you will be responsible for all arrangements and all costs of shipping. I assume no responsibility for damage to the vehicle incurred after it leaves my premises.
