Vehicle Detail
This is a No Reserve auction for a 1976 Chrysler Newport. I volunteer for a non-profit in downtown Denver. We have a charity car donation program. This Newport was donated to us. As a result, I don't have a lot of history with it. What I do know is that it runs and drive and is in very nice shape. I see no evidence of rust. There's a little paint off the trunk lid edges, see pics. Everything appears to be working.... Air, Heat, Radio. New tires. Our mechanic went thru it and said the brakes lock up sometimes.... sticky calipers. And the valves a re a bit sticky which means the catalitic coverter is not good. So.... I can't guanrantee it'll pass Denver's emissions test. I forgot to look atthe engine. I'm guessing it's an 8 cylinders, but maybe 6. I figure if you are in the market you'll know! The odometer reads 23,497 but likely it's more. How much? Don't know. Colorado DMV routinely puts '0' in as the mileage on cars more than 10 years old. So Title says '0'/ Please don't ask me if it'll make it to Sacramento or Memphis. I have no idea. It's 34 years old. All I can say is it's running now. I always suggest that people transport the cars rather than drive them home. We don't know the car well so I'm just not comfortable watching folks drive off into the sunset. That's about all I know. Best to email me with questions but I really don't know much more. If you're close by and want to see it you have to make an appointment. We have it parked in a locked, unmanned warehouse. I will consider any strong offers. We don't have a set price in mind but if you want to present a $$ I will consider it. We are in downtown Denver so if you are out of state and want to bid, great. But we need it picked up ASAP. We will not be your garage for 2 weeks or a month. I know transport is not an exact science but I do expect you to sign up for one within 24 hours of buying this vehicle. We have a dealer's license so we'll have to do all the dealer paperwork with you no matter where you live. But if you live in Colorado we will have to charge state and maybe rtd tax depending on where you live. state = 2.9%. rtd = 1.2%. And we'll be selling it as a tow away in Metro Denver b/c I'm not sure whether it passes emissions. One more thing... if it doesn't get bids above $700 we'll be tacking on a $150 dealer handling fee. We have alot of paperwork to do and it's not worth it if it becomes just some crazy bargain! If you have zero feedback please email me before bidding. I've not had great success with follow thru from new ebayers. Thanks, Wendy
