1946 DeSoto- Nice Solid Project Car -Clear Title- 1946 DeSoto - Suicide Doors- Solid Project Car -Clear Title- Link to slideshow: http://www.vuvox.com/collage/detail/02d3d39dfbFor being a 46, its solid and clean, would make a great candidate for full restoration. Lines on this car are beautiful, not a single ding or dent, and the body is completely solid with no rust through. The chrome is beautiful and near perfect, I didn't notice any pitting or anything. This is pretty much an all original, complete car, mostly everything is there and included. I am selling this car for a friend, and was told that the previous owners installed a rebuilt 235 Chevy straight six motor, but ran out of money to continue the restoration, so had to part with the car. Motor is installed, and transmission is installed as well, needs drive shaft to be put back in and radiator, all these original parts are included, also has side mirror and extra hubcaps. I'm unaware of the running condition once everything is put back together, just going on what I was told. Its a project car and needs to be gone through mechanically and cosmetically. The body itself has some patches of surface rust, floor boards has some surface rust developing and rust through starting to develop in some areas as well, but solid overall. For the most part the trunk area is solid, though I did notice some rust through occuring there is well, as well as some rust through in the battery tray area up front in the engine compartment. All the glass is in great shape, no cracks. The suicide doors shut and open perfectly. The chrome is all very nice and shines. Original paint looks decent actually, though if your going for the restore, could use new paint. As you see from the pictures, the hood is open, it is not broken, it was just taken off the hinge in the back when the previous owners installed the motor.
