I bought this truck with the intention of converting it to a flatbed truck. This truck runs like a top. The engine and transmission are extremely tight. It is a fire truck so it is geared to go about 55, maybe 60. I've driven it at 60 but I wouldn't push it beyond that. It is apparently able to haul a ton it would probably make a good tow truck or a dump truck. I've done some research on the engine and I believe it to be a Cleveland which I understand to be a heavy duty cast iron block and main bearings. It has some fire stuff on it, hoses and what-not. I didn't buy it to be a fire truck so I really can't tell you much about that part of it. I bought it from a Fire Department in Tennessee and was told it was the original mileage and a "B" engine and not driven much. The body is good, maybe a dent or two but I really haven't noticed any rust. I had a bed for it but I've already sold it. All in all, if you're looking for a tight, heavy-duty truck for any reason.
