1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe. 6 Speed Transmission. 3.4L 6 Cylinder Engine. We had a shop start a rebuild on this engine. The engine was removed, and the heads were re-surfaced. During the test drive the valves hit the pistons and caused damage to the engine. We decided to send the car to a different shop in Manhattan Beach CA. They removed the engine, and determined that the car would need 2 new heads. We have decided at this point that we are just going to sell this car as-is, and let the next guy fix it. This would be a perfect car for someone who want's to set it up as a race car, or upgrade it to a 3.6L engine. The mechanic seems to think that the transmission is fine. It was working properly before the engine went out. Features of car: Rare slate grey with tan leather interior Chrome 18" Rims. Tires are in fair condition Sold new at Beverly Hills Porsche No Visual rust Full leather interior Wood steering wheel Early 4/1998 build. Has rare taillights made for a very short period Leather - has some wear on the seats, door panels, and steering wheel. Car has been sitting for a while, so a good detail would help quite a bit. Exterior - scuff mark on right front fender, and some normal scratches that come with age. Overall the body looks straight. No signs of any accidents Left front side blinker is missing, the mechanism for the spoiler is missing, and the a/c compressor is missing. Has an aftermarket stereo - I'm not sure if it works. Power windows, pdl, cc, leather, sunroof, chrome rims I took pictures of the engine as it sits now, and previously when we started the rebuild. This car is Being sold AS-IS. California Residents will be responsible for their own Smog Certificate once the car is repaired. I Have attempted to explain this car to the best of my ability.
