I am the second owner of this almost original Buick Skylark Convertible. When I say almost original it is because I have changed the engine from the original 300 CID nail head engine to a 1968 350 Buick engine, and it runs great. I also installed a 2004R 4 speed auto trans which works well with the 323 Posi rear gear, I have changed the front brakes to disc for safety reasons. I purchased my Buick from the original owner in California 24 years ago, and It will be hard to part with it. The car has some rust in the lower rear corners of the doors and the quarter near the rear edge of the door, all of this is easily repairable, the only other rust is on the heater box it has no holes but should be cleaned up or replaced. The convertible top mechanism works well, I just replaced both top rams one had frozen up. The top materiel is going bad and will need to be replaced soon there are a few holes and the back plastic window is bad. This car is in very good shape overall and could be driven anywhere today it just needs some TLC to be in really good shape all cosmetic. The carpet needs replaced, the rear seat is original and has many cracks in the upholstery, the front buckets have been replaced but the cover on the passenger side is begining to crack. I haven't cut any holes in the body or altered anything in the chassis, when I added the 2004R trans, it was a little longer so I made a cross member that fits the original bolt holes on the frame. I am a 25 year GM Factory Technician so the work done on this car is quality.
