Vehicle Detail

Stunning 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera! An amazing unmolested 911 Carrera! Guards Red with Black interior. 5-Speed, A/C, BBS Wheels, Alpine CD stereo with Flex power amplifier and Tinted windows. This is a TRUE CALIFORNIA CAR. NO RUST, NO ACCIDENT DAMAGE. It comes with a 1" thick binder filled with 20 years of service and maintenance records dating right back to 1986 and totaling more that $24,000!! It has its original tool kit complete with spare fuses! It even has the original plastic gloves and little factory bottle of glass cleaner! 24 pampered years of history. 230,688 DOCUMENTED MILES! This car RUNS STRONG, it drives and shifts beautifully, no smoke - ANY INSPECTION INVITED indeed encouraged, but BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS PLEASE. ON 12/31/10 I TOOK THE CAR TO WILLIMANTIC AUTOWORKS LLC. JIM, THE OWNER (AND A SKILLED FORIEGN AUTO MECHANIC OF 30+ YEARS) PERFORMED A COMPRESSION TEST AND A LEAK DOWN TEST - THE RESULTS OF THE COMPRESSION TEST WERE AS FOLLOWS: 175, 175, 180, 175, 180, 175. LEAKDOWN ON ALL CYLINDERS WAS IN THE 20% RANGE, WHICH HE SAID INDICATES SOME WEAR, BUT STILL ADEQUATE FOR GOOD ENGINE OPERATION. HE CHECKED THE CLUTCH AND DEEMED THE OPERATION WAS PERFECT WITH NO NEED FOR ANY ADJUSTMENT. I have owned this car since 2007. It is one of several cars I own. It gets occasionally used on dry days in fine weather. It's NEVER seen snow. It has a new battery and wiper blades. Freshly polished and detailed READY TO GO!. In the interest of full disclosure, at the time of writing this, these are the only known issues to me: Windshield wipers work when you use the 'clean function' but do not operate in position 1,2 or 3.(As the motor clearly works the problem is likely bad contacts on the switch - which is a $100 item). The two top little plastic heater control knobs are missing. (They broke and I never bought new ones) The left defrost heater lever does nothing. I pulled it up and either the cable broke or the ferrule came loose. The right side works fine. My mechanic said it is still connected on the engine side, so the problem must be at the lever end. THAT'S IT! If you can live with these minor flaws or have the time to sort them out, you can be the proud owner of this EXCEPTIONALLY well-presented Porsche! PS: I have taken and upload as many photos as eBay would allow me to, I have a few more of the inside of the luggage compartment with the carpet and battery out and one of the binder with the records. Just email me if you want to see them. PPS: Here are a couple of videos. One shows the car at cold start (note oil spot beneath, that's the extent of the drip when parked after a good run) and the other is a brief test drive showing how well it runs and how smoothly it shifts in and out of second gear. (The first and last parts of the video have the car being driven on a loose stone road, hence the sound of stones being flicked up into the wheel wells)
