And, it's not just any ultra-clean, adult owned HO powered drop-top; this is a 1990-and-a-half Ford Mustang LX 5.0 25th Anniversary Limited Edition 7-UP promotional car. Apparently, 7-UP Bottling planned to give away one of these Emerald Green convertibles to 30 lucky basketball fans if they could sink a shot from center court. The contest was canceled but not before 4,103 rolled off the Dearborn assembly line. This incredible car is among the 2,743 automatics produced and if you're even remotely aware of "5.0" Mustangs from this period, you know these had an enviable reputation on the street. The potent 302 responds so well to power mods, precious few of these nimble machines have survived unmolested. Fewer still are undefiled and have incredibly low mileage like this Deep Emerald Green beauty. Many people prefer the uncluttered, muscular LX 5.0 to its extroverted GT stable-mate and of course, underneath, this is a Mustang GT. Progressive rate springs, thicker sway bars, quicker steering and Quadra-Shock rear suspension are just some of what makes the GT such a sterling performer. And, because the "7-UP" package included GT wheels (among other things) everything that made the "5.0" formidable on the street makes this LX 5.0 a very capable (and swift) pony. What we have here folks, in addition to everything that makes a 5.0 Mustang so cool, is a 302 rocket from 1990 with a real 72,289 original miles. Other than regular service, nobody ever put a wrench to this bad boy and it looks pretty much the way it did 21 years ago. The paint is great, showing less wear than cars a quarter of this age. The body is straight with only a few very minor dings and small dents. The white leather is superb, again considering its age and that it is all original. The detailed photography of this car will leave no question to our claims. Everything works beautifully and that includes Ford's legendary small block. Coupled with the robust 4-speed AOD automatic and Tractio-Lok rear axle, effortless performance is a toe-tap away. The sun, wind (or moon) is just nine seconds away. The function of the power convertible top is flawless and it has a glass rear window with defroster.
