boydza Store We are about to relist this item as NO RESERVE AUCTION. Please look at our auctions in next 7 days. My 2001 Golf GTI has been an excellent combination of luxury, performance and prestige with quality that shames almost all modern hatchbacks. Including the Mk5 Golf. I bought it this year and it had traveled about 130,000 high way miles - it was literally the best one I could find. I only buy Pennsylvania cars. Usually mileage is higher but roads are excellent. Not like in NYC, drivers drive long distance, so cars are in good condition. The car has been babied by one female owner and it loves me back! You've got to keep an eye on the timing belt and water pump, but apart from that these are reliable little gadgets with plenty of grip and go. That is why my mechanic put in new timing belt, water pump and all belt and pules. Worth over $1200. Last month I took it in for oil change ONLY. I ended up changing spark plugs valve cover gasket ,upper strut mounts with bearing new air and cabin filter. Upssss another $900. I drive back from work at night so I had shop install HID lights package. Woooow what a difference. $200 well worth it. Just look at all the fan sites and forums full of MK4 GTI owners. This comes in handy if anything goes wrong with the car too, as there are plenty of people who know how to sort the car out. I never added any after market computers on it but I heard it can do to 500 hp. Performance-wise it's no WRX, but then again that's part of the appeal. In Europe the GTI is bought by people who want something a bit stealthy and different, but still quick. If you need it to go faster, you can chip it for $500 or so and have 250kw (400+hp). There's plenty more tuning options available if you want to go even faster. Some will say it's not as focused as a GTI6 or EVO, but I disagree. This is a machine that has been finely tuned, comfortable, livable everyday car that's a bit different from the norm. The cloth sport seats are supportive and massively adjustable. 0-100 and lap times are important if you're 15 or live in a fantasy world. This is a car that's as impressive driving to the shops at 40mph as it is on a winding mountain pass. The ride and handling balance is superb, if a little on the stiffer side. I love my GTI. Literally everyone that's seen it can't believe the condition it's in and its quality in general. But like my line at the start says, it's worth being patient and waiting to find the right buyer before sealing the deal. After that you've got to service it (the car, boys, settle down) regularly and be attentive to troubles so that the relationship doesn't end in disaster. This 2001 GTI scores 7/10. 10 being brand new. It does have some blemishes. Please look over pictures. I try to go into details as much as possible. I would love to see my Golf going in a good hands and bringing lot more joy in other drivers hearts. Please give me a call at 1-484-326-6659 Thank you, Max + Excellent quality, comfort, image - Parts expensive, could be quicker, a bit more room in the back seat :) On Dec-23-10 at 08:01:46 PST, seller added the following information: We provide additional pictures for this fabulous Golf 1.8 GTI. On several pictures you can see oil leak on the engine. This oil leak is product of changing oil and oil filters, they are placed upon the engine.
