This is a Lotus seven type car project. It is also know as a Locost as inspired by Ron Champion's sports car book. Two young men, Scott and Steve started the Champion Motor Car Co. in Madison, Alabama. These are the people that we bought the kit and all the parts from. They used a jig to weld the frame together which was important to me. I will make a list of the new parts we bought from them: Stage 1 Locost Kit (series 2 Lotus 7), jig welded chasse, 5-piece fiberglass body set, upper control arm set, lower control arm set, rear trailing link set, adjustable panhard rod, and bushing set. New Parts: MG mounting package including; 1275 engine mounts, Midget radiator mounts, small battery tray, turn signal mounting brackets, MG stearing hoop and mount. New Parts: Toyota strut conversion kit; VW mount rack; VW tie rods with ends; set of four coil over adjustable shocks; windshield with mount brackets; two chrome headlight buckets; spare tire bracket; role bar; aluminum brake, clutch, and accellerator pedals with brackets; new electric cooling fan kit; four new rotors, calipers and disc pads; brake & clutch master cylinders; four new 14" Mini Lites rims with four new toyo tires. Used parts in this vehicle: rear axle out of a 1985 Toyota Corolla 4:11 ratio with disc brakes; Toyota Corolla struts; VW steering rack; Austin Healey Sprite speedometer, tackometer, ignition switch, toggle switches, and wiring harness. At this point the car has the rear axle mounted with coil over shocks, trailing arms and panhard rod. Front suspension is mounted, rack and pinion are in place and the car steers. Radiator has been tested, cleaned and is mounted. Brake and clutch master cylinder are installed. Brakes and plumned in, bled and function. Gas tank is mounted with fuel line to the engine compartment. Comes with SU fuel pump that needs to be installed. There is a Sprite 1100 cc engine and rib case transmission setting in the car at this time. I have been working on placing the motor mounts. The engine needs rebuilding, but the transmission is ready to go. Most of the aluminum panels are formed. Comes with a new 4' x 10' sheet of aluminum. This is a project car and I am trying to describe as accurately as possible. If you are considering buying this car it would be best if you came and did a physical inspection. I can help with delivery to some extent. The car comes with a MSO (Manufacturers Statement of Origin and body VIN tag). Look at the pictures closely.
