Vehicle Detail
Good day, Up for your consideration is a 1995 GMC 2500 Vandura van with an Explorer luxury conversion. This is a raised roof conversion and has TONS of room inside. There is no reserve on this auction so the high bidder WILL win this van!! There is no reserve on this auction so the high bidder WILL win this van!! There is no reserve on this auction so the high bidder WILL win this van!! There is no reserve on this auction so the high bidder WILL win this van!! This used to be my daily driver and was GREAT for vacations. We have owned this van for about 8 years and it's been a great vehicle. The kids are a bit older (They can almost sit next to each other without fighting), the wife has a new car and I have been driving her old one. This is simply an extra vehicle taking up driveway space and the wife has been on me for a few years to sell it. So, the time has come. This is a 15 year old vehicle and, as such, is not without its issues. But, none are mechanical. I would drive this thing to Florida tomorrow. This summer, I did drive it to Kentucky Lake - about a 3 ½ to 4 hour drive one way. I just set the cruise control and floated down the highway. This van has about 115,000 miles on it currently. I think I bought it with a little under 64,000, so I only put a little over 6,000 miles a year on it. Thinking back, I have had very little problems with this van. I think the fuel pump was replaced mid way through my ownership. And, the air conditioner compressor failed as we were nearing home from a trip to Louisiana. I think that's about it. Oh, I did have the rear end rebuilt many years back. Other than that, it's been maintenance issues. Tie rods, bushings, tires, brakes, spark plugs, wires - normal wear items. The 350 cubic inch, 5.7 liter engine is strong and pushes this van along very nicely. OK, let me list off everything I know of that is broken or needs work. I don't want any surprises when you pick it up. If it doesn't sell, my wife will be the only person disappointed - It will not be my fault or because I over priced it!!! :-) Since I mentioned the A/C already, I will start there. Before the A/C went out, I had not had a problem with it. After replacing the compressor, there is a leak in the lines. Because I have not been driving it much, I usually just toss in a few cans of freon. With the cost of freon going up, it might be worth pulling the hose off the compressor and checking the gasket. The A/C does work well though!! The front tires are brand new but the rear tires will probably need to be replaced before too long. The front windshield has a crack that continues along the bottom and then up in two locations. These are out of the driver's main view and has never been an issue come inspection time. The van is currently licensed and driven occasionally. The drivers and passengers window motors are too tired to raise and lower the windows any longer. My brother-in-law repaired his with motors from the auto part store for between $80 and $100 a door. I don't go through drive throughs very often and normally have the air conditional on, so I never bothered. The dash board lights (light up the speedometer at night) are not working. Other dash lights are, so probably just a bulb My tom tom tells me my speed, so again, I just have not dealt with it. There is some wood damage inside the van up near each window in the raise roof. A prior owner put silicon around the window to seal it. I have never noticed water there since I have owned the van. Several years ago, I added a remote entry with a remote starter. The brain stopped working a few years ago, but the wiring remains. If you can find a replacement, you should be able to plug and play and have keyless entry as well as auto start again. The auto start is AWESOME, both in winter and summer. When connecting the auto start, I had the dash off. This was summer time and I think a vacuum line behind there came undone because next winter, I didn't have rear heat. (rear A/C still works). I found a vacuum valve under the hood and put a zip tie to hold it closed and I had rear heat again, but I lost front heat - I removed the tie :-) So, it's back to having front heat but no rear heat. Normally, heat from the front is enough for the middle seats but the very back seats can get a little cold... we normally keep a few of those fleece throws in there and that makes things better. I think that's about it for the inside... The outside has a few rust spots and a spot where I brushed the trailer on the rear right. But, there is no real body damage and, with a good wash and wax, actually looks pretty good. All the seats are leather and in surprisingly good condition. There are no tears or rips in any of the seats. The carpet is worn, but not raggy. The indirect lighting and the sun roof make the back a nice place to be. Also, there are 4 reading lights for the rear and they are very directional so they don't bother the driver on those dark highway nights. The van does have a TV mounted about the driver and passenger and headphone jacks at least 4 sets. Or, flick a switch and the sound comes out the speakers in the back - GREAT for family trips. The VCR quit a few years back, so we just use a small inverter and a small DVD player. We have also packet my sons PS2 and played games in the past. I actually hit a rest area once so I could have my turn at guitar hero!! There is storage all over the van and it's nicely appointed with wood everywhere. The rear bench seat will fold down to a bed. The rear seat can also go forward and back (both power driven) to provide more rear storage if needed. The van is a ¾ ton heavy duty van and came with a transmission cooler already installed. I added the tow hitch when I bought it to pull my 2000 pound boat. It was like the boat wasn't even there. This van always run very cool and I have never had any kind of overheating issue. Even on the hottest day with the front and rear A/C blasting. Overall, this is a great van and I will be sorry to see it go. But, the wife is threatening to call one of those hording T.V. shows on me, so I need to sell it in order to prove that is not necessary. :-( OK.. full disclosure satisfied, I believe. If you have any questions, soot me an email. Now for the sale details.... Title is clear and in hand. Ready and waiting for you! A deposit of $100.00 via PayPal is due within 24 hours of auction end. If the deposit is not made within 24 hours, I will relist the van and report the non-payer to eBay. I am not messing around here!! 24 hours does not mean 25, it means 24 or less!!! I start vacation time the end of the week and don't want to be messing around with this then!! The balance is due IN CASH when the van is picked up. I may be able to help with transport if needed. Fuel and expenses would be yours to cover The van should be picked up within 5 days of auction end. If you need more time, talk to me first. The title will be transferred when payment is made in full and will be dated as of auction end. No games, No trades, NO CHECKS, no bank checks, no cashier's checks... I know... they are the same as cash... Well then, just bring the cash! Like I said, I would drive this van tomorrow anywhere. If you remember it is 15+ years old, you will not be disappointed!!
