1988 Ford Mustang Coupe 5.0 5sp SSP (Special Service Package). Car is Oxford white with blue int. showing 64k. I am pretty sure it is 164k. The Oregon State Patrol ordered 17 SSP mustangs from Ford in 88, somehow (lack of communication maybe) they got a double order of 17. The state took possession of the first 17 and declined the second, leaving 17 SSP Mustangs on the lot of Damerow Ford. Damerow ford quickly liquidated 14 to Saleen and that left 3 to be sold off the lot to the public. They added dealer ad on cruise control and install am/fm radios to help in selling the 3. This car is 1 of the 3. Body: The body on the car is very nice, it has all the original body panels except the front pass. fender. The car was repainted the original white 6-7 years ago and I would rate it a 7 on a 1-10 The car has some rust under the trunk lid and at the edge of the trunk jam (see pics). And that is it! There is no rust under the car or under the doors frame rail and radiator support and shock tower all are clean and rust free. I am surprised that it had the rust in the trunk lid area, because there is none anywhere else. There are pics of all the other areas. Interior: The interior of the car is original, nothing is tore broken or missing, everything works like it should, all the quages, lights, radio, wipers, speedo, fuel gauge all work. It is all complete and very original. :Drivetrain The motor runs and sounds great, it has no issues, no smoke, ticks, knocks nothing. No blowby no leaks, great oil pressure I never seen the car come close to running hot. The clutch is nice and smooth, the 5sp shifts like silk. The rearend is quit, has not bearing noises, Brakes are great, no rotor shake or pulling, work as they should. I tried to charge the A/C up a couple of years ago, it took a charge and the compressor kicked on an it would not cool, and the low side gauge would not pull down so I would guess it needs a compressor and I have a good used one for it but never put it on. The 10 hole wheels are newly powdercoated with new tires. The car is a very good running and driving car, very tight. The car still has both “buck Tags” and the door tag, and still has all the SSP items they came with. History: I bought the car a couple of years ago from a man in Oregon, I think he said his brother or brother-in-law bought it new and then his wife drove it till she got something newer. He had the car painted and the fuel pump went out and the car sat for awhile. I worked with him on getting it started to get it on the transport truck. I got it here and went through the car mechanically, if it needed something it got it, I wanted it to be a good reliable every day driver and it is. I cleaned some on the car but I have never scrubbed the interior. The motor needs cleaning, and where the water pump went out, under the front of the car has that brown residue (you can see in the pics). Coolant is flushed now.
