Vehicle Detail

This 1971 Mustang has been sitting for a long time, I bought it with intentions of fixing it up but that is not going to happen. The car is pretty solid, it has typical rust by shock towers all 4 corners on the aprons this is an easy patch job I have done it before on another car so as to not replace the aprons. There is a little rust in the right hand cowl area from a mouse nest, (The car sat for at least 7 years I know of It was not running.) There is also some surface rust and a few pinholes in the trunk floor. Both doors have some rust in front and rear corners. Trunk drop offs have a little also. the car has had new quarters put on at some point, not the best job ever but there is a little rust buble in the right one. The taillight panel has minor rust in it. The floors are solid as a rock. There is some damage to the front fenders and hood, right front fender is good except for the chrome extension, left front has some holes drilled where someone pulled a dent out and the back part behind tire is bent a little. The interior is not in bad shape it will need seat covers and a redye to be correct it was blue with the random stripe cloth seats. The tach and guages all work The only one I am not totally sure about is gas gauge I have not put enough gas in to get it to register. I did put a new gas Tank in but not a new sending unit. To get the car running I had to put a new timing chain in it,It is an erson brand true double roller chain. While I was there I also put a new water pump on and new belts. It also has anew dual exhaust with 40 series flowmasters and headers there is a slight header leak though they are old. The car runs pretty good but carb is leaking and needs rebuild it still has the original 2 barrel carb. It also smokes but i believe it just needs valve seals replaced, But i also think it would be best to rebuild the motor i don't think it has ever been opened up because timing chain gears still had 1970 ford part number on it . The trans is still the original C-6 which is rare to find behind a 2 barrel 351 Cleveland in 71, It works ok I have never driven this car out of my driveway so I do not know how anything mechanical on it truely performs. I have a marti report that will be included that shows it to pretty rare with the interior and drivetrain options. it was quite well loaded for a standard fastback. My plan for it was to build a Boss 351 clone out of it. Thanks for looking and bidding! Questions are always welcome. On Dec-14-10 at 21:03:25 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention the reserve is LOW!! Also there is some damage to lower radiator support and hood latch brace where someone pulled the car with it.
