Selling Points: 1992 Mercedes Benz 300CE VIN# WDBEA51E5NB696598 217hp 3.0ltr 24 Valve DOHC 6 Cylinder Engine. Artic White/Gray. This is the very rare Sportline Edition of the desirable 300CE Coupe. Mercedes produced less the 1,900 CE Coupes for the US that year and less than 50 were Sportlines. The Sportlines came with a sport & lowered suspension from the Factory. The car had heavy duty/sport bushings, swaybars and shocks. The Factory also gave the car special 8 hole light alloy rims that were wider (bigger tires too)than the stock CE rims that year. Plus the cars had a quicker ratio steering and a smaller (390mm)special order sport design steering wheel. It also came with a special Sportline trim package. On top of this the car came loaded from the Factory with Full Power, Leather, Driver & Pass. Airbags, Power Sunroof and more... These early 3.0ltr 24V engines had 7000 RPM redlines and were super high rev. engines as opposed to the 93 thru 95 3.2 ltr. engines which had much lower redlines (closer to 6k). Plus it's silky smooth! Condition: This car is also a two owner car that's been dealer serviced since new. I have a full set of service Merecedes records dating back to day 1 when the car was new. The car's been babied and thoroughly dealer serviced since new. It still looks runs and drives like a 92 300CE with half the mileage it has. You won't be disappointed. The car still drives great, that's how well it's been maintained. Both the suspension and steering are tight. Money was no object to the prior owner when it came to servicing this car. Every complete 30k service was done at Mercedes right thru the 150k service. And all regular servicing right up to 175k miles. I have a stamped service book from Mercedes from day 1 and a full set of books and records. Again, you won't be disappointed. The transmission has been replaced once already at a Mercedes Benz dealership and the head gasket been replaced twice. And the second time the Mercedes Benz dealership did a complete valve job. And at that time they also replaced the timing chain, tensioners and guides. Plus I recently did a tune up at 175k (including but not limited to Cap, Plugs , rotor etc...) and oil change along with a compression test (150lbs across the board) and it was perfect. The engine runs great. I want to point out though, the head gasket sweats a little (but they all do) and there's no drips. It's just the archilles heal of these cars but it's fine as is. Again, the head gaskets been replaced twice at Mercedes and the cars been well looked after. All servicing has been documented since day one with a full set of books and records.The next time I'd change the head gasket is at about 200,000 (if it gives you trouble). This is considered normal servicing for these cars. It's just the way it is, so no worries.... And the body is largely all original with no accidents damage nor repaired accident damage. The car's been garage kept and the body's clean and straight. Plus it has a clean carfax with no stories (ie., original miles, no accidents etc...). Again the exterior/body looks great. The only flaws are a small ding/dent on the passenger fender (it doesn't show in the pictures) and some slight blistering in the paint near the rear passenger side tail light. Other than that the body is excellent and so is the paint. My body shop said they repair both items for $300. If you want me to do it for you it will be in addition to the buy it now of $3,950. This is also my own personal car and I love these E Class coupes and cabs., especially the Sportlines. They're very rare and this Coupe is absolutely gorgeous. It took me a long time to find this car before I bought it. It's a rare find, between it's condition (with the dealer servicing) and the fact that it's a Sportline Coupe, it's probably the nicest in the country priced under $4,000, if you can even find one (at any price)! And again, I have every service record since the car was brand new. literally hundreds of pages of receipts for the last 18 years of servicing plus a stamped Mercedes Benz service manual from te factory.
