Vehicle Detail
i am relisting this truck with a lower price. i had several emails and calls after the auction ended last time and the guy who made a reasonable offer was not able to come up with the money so lets try this again. the picture link and video habve been removed. i can send more detailed pics if requested. truck is currently garaged. this powerwagon has been built/frame off restored from 3 trucks with a focus on driveability and dependability. clean pa. title and current pa.inspection. [no antique/classic crap here] real truck, real insurance, real plates=real coverage in an accident. this truck is not for the powerwagon purist and was not built to be a trailer queen. although, once you buy it you can do whatever you want with it. this powerwagon is for the guy who wants a truck he can get into, start it, drive it without haveing to constantly be working on the truck, and not be afraid to use it, or get it a little dirty from time to time. this is my sons truck and he has decided he now wants a car to drive. i think that has something to do with the girlfriend.[i told him he would regret this later on] specifics: the bed is a first series bed from a 1947 powerwagon. it has a set of reproduction rear fenders from matt tisdale [very sturdy] the wood was replaced with diamond plate steel. [no maintenance of the wood] the rest of the truck is the best parts of the 52 and 56 powerwagon. new parts from vpw.[not a complete list] rear wheel bearings and seals. new rear pinion seal. new front axle bushing inserts[brass] wheel bearings, seals, rebuilt warn lockout hubs, new tie rod ends. transfer case has a new output shaft bearing and all new seals. all new universals. all new seals, trim and or rubber components throughout the truck. new brake cylinders, new brakes, new brake lines and hoses, rebuilt master cylinder, brake adjusters have been zinc plated. brakes are always a concern with these trucks and everthing about the brake system is new and easily adjustable. the zinc plating of these components will insure years of trouble free adjustments of the brakes when needed. helitool power steering. this is awesome. we had an original steering wheel and replaced it with an aftermarket steering wheel to get more room for our knees. at 6'1' i am the shortest driver and got tired of hitting my knees on the steering wheel. the cab has been soundproofed with 5/8" self adhesive foam rubber. very quiet for a powerwagon. 6 volt electric wipers. the heater is 2 speed and puts out lots of heat. new michelin 1100r16 tires. about 5000 miles on them. travels very nicely and relatively quiet at 50 mph. all new glass. doors have been converted to single pane glass. this helps eliminate the wind noise associated with poorly fitting wing windows. the leather seats are from a tahoe and were picked because they have the built in seat belts. frame, axle housings, cab, doors as well as all parts of this truck were either sent out for commercial sandblast or were cleaned and zinc plated before paint. the cab, hood and door painting were done by a local shop. i was not happy with their work. the paint job is ok, but just not the quality that i would expect to pay for. i am not a painter or would have done it myself. the engine is a 230 and has no serial number. i was told that when its a factory rebuild the serial # is removed. i cant confirm or deny this. but the engine is in good condition with no odd noises and no smoke. when we had the engine out we replaced all gaskets and seals including the rear main. #2 and #6 caps were pulled and inspected. no sign of significant wear or reason to replace. complete new wiring harness from vintage wiring of maine. all gauges work. the truck did not come with a winch. a 10000 ramsey winch that was removed from a parts truck was installed. works good. i have not listed all upgrades, or work performed, but you should have an idea of the detail of the work performed. mileage stated can not be verified. i recommend a test drive and personal inspection. 1000.00 paypal deposit required.balance within 7 days. i can deliver within 1000 miles if needed at a cost to be negotiated.
