Vehicle Detail
This is a well preserved 1974 BMW 2002tii. I bought it recently with the intention of selling it to someone who would appreciate it. I have service history documented from 1980 thru 2005. It was not driven much from 2005 to present. The 25 years of service records that come with the car chronicle owners that went above and beyond, investing over $12K in original BMW components including a new factory rear end, oil pan, and new factory wheels in 2003. It is a really solid car, not perfect, but with a very strong body and correct and well running fuel injected motor. The exterior is very nice, the Malaga Red paint is remarkable for 36 years old. I have had some "experts" tell me it is the original paint, I have had some tell me it is not. There is a scratch near the sun roof, and some other minor blemishes to car and trim. The underside is excellent as pictured. There are 3 small areas of rust. 1) Under the paint, low behind the right front wheel is some bubbling, 2) same behind the left rear wheel, and 3) two quarter size spots in the spare wheel well. The frame, floor pans and other areas are excellent. All is pictured for you. The wheels are like new and the tires have good tread. The glass is excellent. The bumpers are shiny but have some scratches and the rubber is good. The doors need slight striker plate adjustment, I tried to show it in the pictures. The interior is good, but not all original. Seats are not stock, but they are comfortable. Carpet is dirty, back seat a little beat. In general not as impressive after the beautiful exterior, but fully functional and easily restored. The dash has a split but it is very thin and repairable. The clock and all gauges work and they look good. The door lock plungers are in the down position whether the car is locked or not. There are speakers in the back that are probably not in their original spot. The trunk contains the original spare, the original jack and tools, and the original floor panels. The engine is complete and unchanged, all of the fuel injection components are in place and adjusted properly. The car starts and runs great. it is really fun to drive. The engine itself does leak some oil from both the front and the back of the engine. The four speed manual transmission drives well enough, but a fussy owner will want to replace the synchros and maybe a little more. The odometer does not currently work. I cannot accurately state the mileage. The service records indicate the odometer hit 100K in the mid 80's, and another 30K+ since then. Does not look that traveled. This is a well preserved low-production car with much documentation. Includes the original owners manual and original BMW cooler/carry bag. This car is sold as is. I have experience in domestic and international vehicle shipping, and will walk you through and help you through the process if new to this. Any shipping cost is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. I can store the car for a reasonable period of time while shipping arrangements are made. I will accept any reasonable form of payment, as long as I receive the full purchase amount within 5 business days. I will not accept paypal unless buyer pays all associated seller fees.
