Vehicle Detail

If you are wanting to build a 64 Max Wedge or Hemi Super Stock replica for showing, street terrorizing, or legal NHRA Stock or Super Stock racing, here is your chance to start with a near rust-free 64 Plymouth Savoy 2 door sedan body...AND... it won't cost you a fortune!! -----In fact, you can buy this car, for about HALF of what I have in it!----- -----I have put a very low reserve on this auction as I am.... sadly.... ready to sell this project car. My original plan was to install a 528 Hemi with a simple street cage, but you know how things change! If you are going to build a Max Wedge or Hemi car.... you would have a hard time finding a better body to start with! And inexpensive too! I have listed this car before, but have not been able to find it the right home for the right price. I purchased this car at the 2008 Mopars At The Strip from an Arizona seller. The car had been a 6 cylinder automatic car it's whole life, living in the arid climate of both Arizona and Nevada. Perhaps 7 or 8 years earlier, the original MM1 Silver Gray Metallic paint had been recovered in PP1 Red. As you can see from the photos, the painter left part of the engine compartment in the original color. I want to point out the flaws so you can know what you would be buying. There is a hole about 4" long in the driver's side cowl that is caused by water puddling there and the driver's floor pan has some surface rust. You could choose to replace that if you wished. You will note there is also some surface rust on the trunk floor (as always) and about a 6" round section on the inside of both quarters that can be seen from inside the trunk. But....as you can see from looking at the differential and the end of the frame rails, this car appears to have minimal, minimal, to practically non-existant body rust. I ran my paint checker magnet along the rocker panels and could detect some filler, probably to straighten the lowest surface of the body lines. The interior is original, down to the rubber floor. As you can see from the photos, the fabric on the drivers seat has come unstitched and will need replacing. The driver's side door panel is also needing to be recovered. The headliner and the package tray panel are missing, but these are very easily had and are very inexpensive to replace. You would want to take the headliner out to weld in a new cage or roll bar anyway. The 6 cylinder motor ran fine when it was delivered to me here and I drove it into my storage garage. I had to pirate the ignition switch and the headlight switch out of this car for another project, but if you replace these two items you could even put this car back on the street with little to no trouble, although I'm making no representations about the condition of the motor or the trans. I will include the fiberglass Hemi hood scoop that is simply lying on the hood, visible in some of the photos. As you know, the 64 Savoy "post" car was available as a 426 Max Wedge car with bench seats, and it was also available with the 426 Hemi which came equipped with the lightweight bucket seats. You would have the option of building a clone or a race car in either configuration. I have the title for the car in my possession, so this can be an easy transaction. I will require a non-refundable $1000 deposit at the end of the auction and a wire transfer for the balance from your bank to mine before the car can be picked up. This is a very simple process and will be cheaper for you than paying for a trackable FedEX with a bank check that I will have to wait for it to clear. I can help with arranging for a transport company to pick up the car here in Denver. If you are new to eBay and you have less than a positive 5 feedback, you MUST contact me before bidding or I WILL delete your bid. This is not personal, and I realize everyone has to start gaining feedback somewhere, but this is a business transaction and I will treat it so. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time, as the car is available for sale locally. I am doing a winter shop cleaning and will be listing more Mopar stock and Super Stock parts over the next couple of weeks so be sure to click on "See Other Items" for other parts that will be available. If you have further questions, send me an email through the "Ask A Question" link above or call me at 303-759-6638 24/7. If I'm not in, please leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Please remember that I'm in Mountain Standard Time. Good luck with your bidding! Remember...if you have questions or need further information, I'm available at 303-759-6638 during daytime hours, Mountain Std. Time. If I am not in, when you hang up I'll be paged and I'll get back to you. Good luck with your bidding!
