There are only 100 miles on the overhaul, which was completed this spring, and only 5,143 miles on the original chassis. With the Boyer ignition, the bike starts very easily. The bike will run well on 87 octane gas, although we always use 91 octane non-oxygenated (non-ethanol) gas, and we recommend non-ethanol for ALL motorcycle engines. The carb is the correct Amal Monobloc 389/95 which is 13/16 inch or 30mm. Beautiful, fast, great handling, and rare.Who could ask for a more unique classic bike? Only 922 TR6SR models were imported into the U.S. You can own this wonderful classic. Feel free to ask for more photos. I make no apologies for my restorations. I don't build show bikes to factory specifications. I've learned a lot about engines in these last forty years, and I build bikes that are true to their roots, but are far superior mechanically to the bikes that were produced in the old days. Let the millionaires buy 'concours' restorations for their offices, and I don't disrespect them for their choices. But, I build bikes for real bikers who like to RIDE vintage bikes, but want the reliability that we demand in this new century. In defense of past criticism: The thin glued-on knee pads were indeed available in '65, along with the thick style that were on the pre-unit models, although the the thin ones generally were used on the 4-gal tank. The '65 tach drive directed the cable straight out into your knee. We updated the tach drive to a '66 unit, which required a '66 tachometer. The numberplate style taillight is correct for the UK versions of the '65 6T, TR6, and T120 Bonneville. The bike is new, 'wheel-to-wheel', 'sump screen-to-rocker covers', 'top-to-bottom', and everything in between. The gearbox has been completely overhauled as well. EVERYTHING has been overhauled--swingarm bushings, wheel bearings, steering stem bearings, brakes. The engine has been fitted with several high performance and high-technology upgrades to make the bike more reliable and more 'ride-able' at highway speeds. For instance, a 1965 Triumph 'completely restored to stock factory specifications' would vibrate badly at 70 mph, and would not have as much power as our engine. With the larger displacement of our 750cc upgrade, we were able to change the final drive to a much taller gearing, so the bike can go 70mph with the engine running at only 4,000 RPM---this results in less vibration to the rider, less strain on the engine, and causes less wear to internal engine parts. As you know, power is transmitted from the crankshaft to the clutch via a primary chain. The clutch is connected to the countershaft sprocket, which runs the final drive sprocket turning the rear wheel. The stock primary chain produces friction and drag, which results in horsepower loss. The 'belt drive primary' is a rubber belt and pulley system that replaces the primary drive chain and steel sprocket system. The belt conversion reduces much of the horsepower loss caused by a primary chain. The belt drive also improves reliability, reduces vibration, and helps prevent engine wear. We accept many forms of payments. First of course, the $500 deposit must be paid with PayPal within the first 48 hours. Final payment is due within 7 days, and can be made by any combination of the following ways: We accept bank transfers, sometimes known as wire transfers, and these are done from your bank to my bank through an intermediary bank, and are very safe for both of us, as neither of us learns the bank account number of the other. We can put up to $1,499 on a credit card, or smaller amounts on as many credit cards as you have, up to a total of $1,499. We can take personal checks, cashier checks, bank checks, and bank money orders. In all these instances, our bank holds the funds for three weeks, or until the payment has positively cleared. We can take post office money orders, but the post office holds the funds for three weeks, or until the payment has positively cleared. The motorcycle shall remain in our custody until final payment has cleared. Again, thank you for all for your interest in this wonderful classic.
