Vehicle Detail

1986 Porsche 911 TargaThis is a great car, but the owner has been busy and has not had time to drive it much and it has been a little neglected. He decided to sell it instead of just leaving it parked on the street. Approximately 150,000 mile. Owner was told that at one point the odometer didn't work so mileage is not accurate. Black with tan interior. Engine has been rebuilt two owners ago and runs strong. New tires with about 1,000 miles on them. Targa top leaks a little bit. Some water got into the car one winter and there was some mold that grew on the seats. Wiped down and cleaned but the leather is not in good condition. Car stereo doesn't work curently because battery went completely dead at one point and theft proof stereo doesn't allow it to be turned on now. The speakers are a little old too, so you might want to consider getting new speakers if that is important to you. The car has a Momo steering wheel, original tool set, owners manual, tirejack and spare tire. The rims on the car are amazing. The paint is in decent shape. The engine is in great shape and sounds great too. It uses castor oil and has a great smell when it is running too. The A/C worked last time it was charged, but slowly leaks as is common is Porsches of this era and owner never had it re-charged. This car is solid and really moves. You can tell was used as a race car once because because it has a racing harness on the drivers floorboard. Overall this car looks and runs great. It hasn't needed a lot of maintenance and is one of those cars that can easily be kept running another 25 years. I have posted many more pictures on this picasa album http://picasaweb.google.com/113851515046683136608/PorscheForSaleOnEbayItem32061044276702?authkey=Gv1sRgCPn8mq2P0Iz8BQ# The Good:Motor, transmission, clutch, and brakes all seem good. Motor still pulls strong at higher RPMs and no oil leaks.Paint job is still good. Almost no rust anywhere.Rims are in great condition (no road rash) and the tires are almost brand new (Bridgestone Potenza RE760s)Original owner's and warranty/maintenance manualsOriginal tool kit and jackCollapsible spare tireThe Not So Good:Steering pulls to the right a little bit, but not too bad. Probably needs to be re-aligned.Power seat adjustments don't work.High beam/turn signal stalk needs some work. High beams come on randomly and left turn signal doesn't disengage automatically. Some water leakage when washing the car.Crack in the windshield.Interior is worn or dirty in some places There is a small crack in the windshield with a halo around it, probably due to a rock from the road. The roof has a few small tears in the vinyl. Sometimes when it rains, water gets in, sometimes it doesn't. It probably matters how snug the top has been put on. I put up pictures of how close the windows go to the targa top and there is a small gap on one side and no gap on the other. When washing the car, water tends to get in and that is probably due to the water coming at the car from the side and not from overhead. A quick wipe of a towel will get up all the water. There is rust on some of the metal in the cabin. It doesn't seem to be deep rust and can probably be scrubbed off and painted over. The rust formed when some water got in the car during a rainy winter and wasn't discovered due to not driving the car and a car cover on top until after a few warms weeks. There was also some mildew on the seats and they were washed over several times with diluted bleach. There hasn't been any more mildew. On the right back side there are a few lines. They look like when hair on a wall get painted over as they are very fine raised ridges. I don't know what they are from, but they are usually not noticeable.
