Welcome Everyone! Todays listing is For: 1987 Ford Ranger 4 Speed/Manual Mileage Unknown Odometer works but I am unsure as I am NOT the orginal owner if the mileage is 199,000 or 99,000. Odometer read 87,000 when i purchased it 2 years ago on 11/7/08. The previous owner, who was a friend of mine, had not driven it for approximately 6 years. It was a backup vehicle for maintenance for his rental properties. The owner before him supposedly used the vehicle sparingly as well according to the friend of minne I purchased it from. This however is second hand information to me so I am selling UNKNOWN as far as mileage. My mechanic of 10 years did tell me in his opinion there was NOT over 87,000 miles when I purchased it. I am unclear from 1987 thru 2002 due to me NOT knowing the vehicle prior to then. If I was a buyer looking at this vehicle I would ASSUME the odometer has wrapped over 1 time. The odometer only has room for 5 digits and the tenth of a mile digit reel. The last 2 years the vehicle has been used daily except for the last 45 days. I had the vehicle used by my friend for his lawncare business. He started using a newer truck in Late August 2010. The vehicle has sit at my house since then. Since I purchased the vehicle the following has been replaced/services performed: Battery Radiator Alternator 1 Tune Up xx amount of oil changes for a 2 year period Fuel Relay The vehicle interior is remarkable for a 20+ year old run of the mill truck Working Power Windows Working Power Locks Truck also comes with a TOPPER The body DOES have a Significant amount of rust....mainly the tailgate. Windshield is cracked Gas Gauge does NOT work I am aware that the truck does cut in and out. There is an issue supposedly with fuel getting to the engine at times. I drove the vehicle from my mechanics house to mine in Late August and the vehicle ran fine. The truck does start and has gotten me from point A to Point B. Point A to Point B for me in the truck has never been more than 15-20 miles. I have not driven it much. I would caution the buyer though as I am disclosing that the truck does not run perfectly. It has broken down on my friend who used it for 1 1/2 years. I know the fuel issue did not disappear but when I drove the vehicle it got me home from my mechanics. My mechanic told me that the vehicle does have an issue but he said it would not be worth my time to fix it since I have 2 vehicles already, including a newer truck. The extent of what needs fixed regarding the fuel issue I do not know as far as cost. I am not a mechanic. I am simply making all potential buyers aware! The truck works. If you are local....please come a take for a test drive. Price being asked is cheap as far as my standards. This vehicle should not be bought if you do NOT have a backup vehicle or unless you simply really need a form of transportation.
