Vehicle Detail
This is a solid truck. I bought it in 2006 with 80K miles and took good care of it. It is a standard model with a rear wheel drive and manual 5-speed transmission (stickshift). The engine is a 4-cylinder 2.2L - very economical (I averaged 19mpg in the city and 21-22mpg on the highway at 70-75 miles per hour). It only has the standard equipment (no power doors) – got ABS, 2 airbags, power steering, ice-cold AC, hot heater, plus a roof rack. Two tires are good, with 20K on them, the other two need to be replaced. This Rodeo does not have *ANY* problems that affect drivability or safety. My wife drove my kids in this truck so I made sure to maintain it well. Smoke-free. Around 100K mark, I made serious investments in the car. We were replacing the thermostat when my mechanic told me that engine needed to be rebuilt. It cost me $2000 to do this job but now it’s in tip-top shape. Had no major problems ever since. There was also work done to the alternator, and clutch. I have all the records/receipts. Oil has been changed diligently. It does not eat or burn any oil. There are some minor problems, though. "Check Engine" light has been on for all the 4 years I owned it, spitting the code "Gas tank cap is bad", although, of course, it is not. I suspect that must be something about emissions... but no mechanic told me I had this type of issue and I never had to pass any emission tests so I am not sure… Also, the rear wiper does not work, however, the defroster does. The last thorough inspection was in June before we moved and I drove the Rodeo from Illinois to Buffalo, New York. No problems were found. The move is the main reason I am selling the car now. We decided that we do not want to use a rear-wheel drive truck during the snowy Buffalo winter. For this same reason, I am selling the car on ebay. We just bought a 4WD SUV and are not driving the Rodeo any more... All in all, it is going to be a solid buy, lasting for years… Clear title in hand. Good luck bidding and winning!
