Vehicle Detail

Yes, you read it right... 39,000 original miles!! This is probably one of the cleanest early 70's muscle cars I've ever seen. It's as close as you can come to buying a time machine that really works. The car belongs to my mother in law. She is the second owner and bought it in1989 in Chicago. It has always been garaged and everything including the paint and interior is original. It has the original #'s matching Olds V8 350 2V engine, TH350 3spd automatic transmission, power brakes, power steering and A/C. Of course everthing works including the AM radio and A/C. The only modification made to this vehicle is the Edelbrock RPM 4 barrel intake, AFB style carburator and HEI distributor for added performance and drivability. It has no major oil or fluid leaks. This Cutlass runs, drives and rides like a dream. I'm guessing rear axle ratio is around 3.08's, but it has plenty of take off power too. Body and paint condition are very good. As far as I can tell, it has never been wrecked. There are a couple rock chips on the front hood edge and left fender. The car must have seen a couple of Chicago winters because is has some of the typical salt rust scale on the frame and floor pans, but there are to rust holes. A little work with the car on a lift and a wire brush should clean most of it up. I decided to leave this to show that there is nothing being hid on it as far as original condition. As far as I can tell, this car has never been wrecked. The interior is in great condition considering it's the original white vinyl material. The only issue is there is a 2" tear on the driver's bottom seat cushion that looks to be repairable. Also, there is a 1" x 1" square of carpet missing under the driver's floor mat. It looks as if someone cut it out instead of wear, because the carpet is in great condition. The weatherstripping and convertible top is also in great shape. It hardly makes any noise as it is being driven down the freeway, which I find to be amazing. I know that you hear this a lot, but these pictures really don't do this car justice. Please ask questions before bidding. This vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction if it sells prior to the end of the auction. On Nov-15-10 at 09:32:59 PST, seller added the following information: We did save the original 2bb cast iron intake, 2bb Rochester carburator, points distributor, and all hardware to put the engine back to original. All of these parts will be included with the Cutlass at no extra charge.
